Mastercard casino bonus

A Mastercard casino bonus works with a Debit Mastercard: all five of our partner casinos take Mastercard debit deposits, and none lists Mastercard as an excluded method for its welcome offer. The catch is the type of card. Mastercard credit cards are banned for UK gambling, and prepaid or e-wallet Mastercards are excluded by Coral and Ladbrokes.

Key takeaways

  • A Debit Mastercard linked to a UK bank account qualifies for all five partner welcome offers on the terms we checked.
  • Mastercard credit cards can't be used to gamble in Great Britain (since 14 April 2020).
  • Prepaid Mastercards, and cards issued by e-wallets, are a grey area: Coral and Ladbrokes exclude prepaid cards outright.
  • No partner publishes a Mastercard-specific payout time; cards take up to 2 days at Casumo and 10bet.
  • 18+ and full terms apply; a bonus doesn't reduce the house edge.

Which Mastercard can claim a casino bonus?

The Mastercard logo appears on several very different products, and each is treated differently by casino bonus terms. The card that matters for a Mastercard casino bonus is the Debit Mastercard issued against a UK current account. Use this table to work out what you're holding before you go near the cashier.

E-wallet cards need a note of their own. NETELLER says its card is not a credit card and only spends money held in the account, the Payz Mastercard is issued by PSI-Pay Ltd, and MuchBetter's cards are issued by Paynovate SA under a Mastercard licence. A casino may see those as prepaid cards or as the wallet behind them, and both NETELLER and Paysafe products are on Coral's exclusion list. Our e-wallet casino bonus guide covers them properly; for a welcome offer, a bank-issued Debit Mastercard is the safer route.

Mastercard casino bonus acceptance at five UK casinos

Coral's and Ladbrokes' help centres both list Mastercard, Casumo names it in its homepage FAQ, PlayOJO's help page refers to debit cards in general, and a third-party listing shows 10bet taking debit cards (10bet's own help centre doesn't list methods). Here's how that maps onto each welcome offer's payment rules.

"Not named" is the strongest statement anyone can honestly make from published terms. Offer pages change, so open the casino's own full terms on the day you sign up. Our guide on how payment exclusions work explains why casinos carve out some methods and not others, and why PayPal deposits are excluded gives the e-wallet side of the story.

Why a Mastercard credit card won't get you a bonus

Gambling on credit was banned by the Gambling Commission from 14 April 2020. The Commission's guide to gambling using a credit card (opens in a new tab) explains that the rule covers online and offline gambling, apart from non-remote lottery products, and that businesses taking e-wallet payments should check the wallet wasn't topped up by credit card.

The ban followed estimates that around 800,000 people gambled on credit cards in 2018, and research cited by the Commission found that 22% of online gamblers using credit cards were problem gamblers. So topping up PayPal or another wallet from a credit Mastercard and then depositing isn't a workaround; it breaks the spirit of the rule and can lead to the deposit being refused. See the credit card ban page for the dates.

Mastercard and Ladbrokes' 10-day free spins

Ladbrokes' offer suits a Mastercard debit deposit well because it has no card exclusion and no wagering. Once you've deposited and spent £10 or more on slots, you get 50 free spins a day for your first 10 days, at 10p each on selected games. Each day's spins must be claimed before 23:59 and then used within 7 days.

The headline "up to 500" assumes you log in and claim on all 10 days. Missing a day means losing that day's 50 spins, which is how the offer is designed, not a sign you should play more often than you want to. Our Ladbrokes free spins page goes through the daily claim window, and daily free spins compares this format with one-off batches.

Mastercard deposits and deposit-match bonus maths

Casumo and 10bet pay a percentage of your first deposit as bonus money rather than spins. With a Debit Mastercard the numbers depend only on how much you deposit. The cost column uses a 4% house edge as an illustration: it's what you'd lose on average while completing the wagering, not a prediction.

Casumo, £100£50£5007 daysAbout £20
Casumo, £200£100 (cap)£1,0007 daysAbout £40

Casumo limits bets to £5 while a bonus is active, so £1,000 of wagering means at least 200 bets. 10bet caps bonus winnings at £1,000 and only counts slots. The UK 10x wagering cap has applied to all of these since 19 January 2026. Use our wagering calculator to try your own numbers.

How to claim a Mastercard casino bonus

  1. Confirm your card is a Debit Mastercard from a UK bank, not a credit, prepaid or wallet card.
  2. Open the casino's full offer terms and find the excluded payment list and minimum deposit.
  3. Register through the offer page and pass the age and identity checks, which must happen before you can deposit.
  4. Set a deposit limit at the prompt; you can keep it low to match what you planned to spend.
  5. Opt in if required (Casumo) or choose the casino welcome offer (10bet).
  6. Deposit with your Debit Mastercard: £10 minimum for the spin offers, £20 for Casumo's bonus.
  7. Complete any qualifying slots bet and claim the spins or bonus before the deadline.

If the offer doesn't appear, don't deposit again by another method; that can make things worse at casinos that tie the offer to the first deposit. Contact support first, and see how to claim a casino bonus for the general process.

Mastercard withdrawals after a casino bonus

None of our partners publishes a payout time specifically for Mastercard. Coral and Ladbrokes describe a Visa Fast Funds route, but for other methods Ladbrokes' withdrawal timeframes page (opens in a new tab) says money arrives anywhere from instantly to five banking days depending on the method, after internal approval. Casumo quotes up to 2 days for cards and 10bet's withdrawal page (opens in a new tab) says up to 2 business days for debit cards.

Neither Coral nor Ladbrokes charges withdrawal fees. Casumo charges £3 on withdrawals under £10. Winnings from no-wagering spins can be withdrawn once credited; bonus money from Casumo or 10bet has to be wagered first. Read does a bonus affect withdrawals? before you request a payout with a bonus still running.

Gambling blocks on a Debit Mastercard

Several banks that issue Debit Mastercards let you stop gambling payments on them. The Commission's list says Santander lets you block particular transaction types without freezing the card entirely, and Barclays' merchant control (opens in a new tab) blocks debit card payments to gambling merchants with a toggle in the app. Starling blocks card payments to most gambling merchants, card by card.

These blocks are worth using if spending is creeping up. They work on the card network's merchant codes, so they don't replace GAMSTOP or a casino deposit limit; together they make impulsive top-ups harder. The Starling casino bonus page explains that bank's block in more detail.

Debit Mastercard as the replacement for Maestro

Payments firm Adyen describes Debit Mastercard (opens in a new tab) as the most common replacement for Maestro, accepted wherever Mastercard is. In the UK, Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank began replacing Maestro with Debit Mastercard in September 2009. If you still have an old Maestro card, our Maestro casino bonus page explains what that means for an offer, and the Visa casino bonus page covers banks that moved to Visa instead.

Best fit for a Mastercard casino bonus

With a Debit Mastercard, all three offers below are open to you on the published terms, so choose on the shape of the offer rather than the card. Coral gives 100 spins after one £10 slots bet; Ladbrokes gives up to 500 spins if you claim on 10 separate days; PlayOJO gives 80 spins on a first deposit with no payment exclusions in the terms we hold. Card-holders who prefer a cash match can look at Casumo or 10bet in our welcome bonus comparison.

Frequently asked questions

Can I claim a casino bonus with a Debit Mastercard?

Yes, a Debit Mastercard from a UK bank can claim the welcome offers at all five of our partner casinos, because none of them lists Mastercard as an excluded deposit type. You still have to meet each offer's own conditions, such as a £10 slots bet at Coral or Ladbrokes or a £20 deposit at Casumo. Coral's exclusion of "certain debit cards" is the one clause to check. The Ladbrokes payment methods page sets out what Ladbrokes publishes for each method.

Are Mastercard credit cards allowed at UK casinos?

No, no British-licensed casino can accept a Mastercard credit card for gambling since 14 April 2020. The Gambling Commission's ban also covers credit cards used through payment services, and casinos taking e-wallets should check they weren't funded by credit card. A credit card deposit will be refused, so it can't trigger a welcome offer. If you're unsure which card you have, your banking app will show it. More detail is on can I use a credit card at a casino?

Does a prepaid Mastercard qualify for a casino bonus?

Not at Coral or Ladbrokes, which both exclude prepaid cards from their welcome offers whatever logo the card carries. PlayOJO, Casumo and 10bet don't name prepaid cards in the terms we hold, but Casumo says payment restrictions apply, so you'd need its full terms. A prepaid card is loaded in advance rather than drawing on a bank account, and casinos treat it differently from debit. Our prepaid card casino bonus page explains the reasons.

How long do Mastercard withdrawals take after a bonus?

Expect up to about 2 days at most of our partners, though no casino we work with publishes a Mastercard-specific time. Casumo says cards take up to 2 days after approval, and 10bet says up to 2 business days for debit cards. Coral and Ladbrokes say payouts arrive from instantly to five banking days depending on the method, after their own review. PlayOJO says it processes most payments within a few hours. See pending withdrawal for what happens during the review stage.

Is a Mastercard casino bonus different from a Visa one?

No, the offers are identical; only the card network behind the deposit differs. At our partners, neither Visa debit nor Debit Mastercard is named as an excluded method, and the spins, match percentages and wagering are the same either way. The one practical difference is that Coral and Ladbrokes publish a Visa Fast Funds payout route, while no Mastercard-specific time is published. Compare the details on our Visa casino bonus page.

Can I use a NETELLER or other wallet Mastercard for a welcome offer?

It's risky, and at Coral it's very likely excluded. Cards issued by e-wallets spend money held in the wallet, and casinos may treat them as prepaid cards or as the wallet itself. Coral excludes Neteller, Skrill, Paysafe and prepaid cards; Ladbrokes excludes the same wallets plus Moneybookers; 10bet excludes Skrill and Neteller deposits. A bank-issued Debit Mastercard avoids the question entirely. See Skrill and Neteller casino bonuses for how wallets are treated.

What's the most a Mastercard deposit can get me in bonus money?

Among our partners, the largest cash bonus is Casumo's 50% match, which reaches its £100 cap on a £200 first deposit. That bonus then needs 10x wagering, £1,000 in total, within 7 days at a maximum of £5 per bet, which at a 4% house edge costs about £40 on average. 10bet's match is capped at £25. Bigger isn't automatically better; is a 50 percent bonus good? weighs it up.

Can my bank block casino payments on my Mastercard?

Yes, most large UK banks offer a gambling block on debit cards, including Debit Mastercards. Barclays has a merchant control toggle in its app, Santander lets you block particular types of transaction without freezing the whole card, and Starling blocks gambling merchants card by card. Some banks add a delay before a block can be lifted, to make impulsive decisions harder. The Gambling Commission keeps a list of banks offering blocks, and our bonuses and GAMSTOP guide covers the wider tools.

Why did my Debit Mastercard deposit not trigger the bonus?

The usual reasons are a missed step rather than the card. At Coral and Ladbrokes, the deposit alone isn't enough: you must also stake £10 on slots. Casumo needs an opt-in and a £20 minimum, and 10bet needs the casino offer chosen at sign-up and a deposit within 7 days. If your card was flagged as one of Coral's excluded debit cards, support can confirm it. Start with why was my bonus not credited? and keep a screenshot of the terms.

Do Mastercard deposits count towards my deposit limit?

Yes, every deposit you make counts towards your casino deposit limit, whichever card or method you use. Since 31 October 2025, casinos must prompt you to set a financial limit before your first deposit, and decreases take effect straight away. Bonus money credited to you isn't a deposit, so it doesn't add to the total you've paid in. For how limits and bonuses interact, read do bonuses count towards deposit limits?
