Prepaid card casino bonus

A prepaid card casino bonus is hard to find in the UK: Coral and Ladbrokes both list prepaid cards and Paysafe among the deposits that don't qualify for their welcome spins, and none of our five partners runs an offer built around prepaid payments. This page shows where a prepaid deposit stands at each partner, what the wrong method costs you, and which methods do count.

Key takeaways

  • Prepaid cards and Paysafe deposits are excluded from Coral's and Ladbrokes' welcome free spins.
  • PlayOJO, Casumo and 10bet don't name prepaid cards in the exclusions we've seen, but Casumo says payment restrictions apply, so check the full terms.
  • Paying with an excluded method on Coral's offer means missing 100 spins worth £10 in stake value.
  • A debit card is the method most likely to qualify; check the offer terms before your first deposit.
  • A prepaid card is not a safer-gambling tool: deposit limits, time-outs and GAMSTOP do that job better.

Is there a prepaid card casino bonus in the UK?

Not in the sense the search suggests. No casino we work with offers a bonus because you pay by prepaid card, and two of the five go the other way: Coral's and Ladbrokes' welcome offers both list prepaid cards and Paysafe among the deposit types that won't trigger the spins. If you search for a prepaid card casino bonus hoping for a reward for paying that way, the honest answer is that you're more likely to be locked out of a welcome offer than rewarded.

That doesn't make prepaid cards useless at a casino. Both of those brands still accept paysafecard through a paysafecard account for ordinary deposits, and several other operators take prepaid products too. The catch is narrower: the payment you use for the qualifying deposit decides whether the welcome bonus is credited. Our casino bonus payment methods hub covers every method; this page deals only with prepaid cards and vouchers.

Everything here applies to UK adults aged 18+ at UK-licensed casinos. Offers and payment rules change, and terms apply to every bonus mentioned. Partner offers were last checked on 5 October 2026.

What counts as a prepaid card in casino bonus terms

Bonus terms rarely define "prepaid card", so it helps to know which products could fall under the label. In practice three kinds of payment are caught:

  • Prepaid vouchers and codes. paysafecard is the best known: you buy a 16-digit code at a shop or kiosk and pay online with it, with no bank account involved. UK values are £10, £25, £40, £50, £75 and £100, according to paysafecard's own explanation of how it works (opens in a new tab). Bonus terms usually group it under "Paysafe".
  • Reloadable prepaid cards. These carry a Visa or Mastercard logo and work like a debit card, but they draw on money you've loaded in advance rather than on a bank account. Casino cashiers can usually tell them apart from bank debit cards, so they are caught by a "prepaid cards" exclusion.
  • Cards attached to e-wallets. The NETELLER card only spends money already held in your NETELLER account, and MuchBetter's cards are issued by Paynovate SA under a Mastercard licence. Because these cards sit on top of an e-wallet, a deposit made with them can fall under the prepaid exclusion, the e-wallet exclusion, or both.

One more wrinkle: Apple says you can add credit, debit or prepaid cards to Apple Pay. If the card behind your Apple Pay wallet is prepaid, the casino may still see it as prepaid. Our Apple Pay casino bonus page explains how wallet payments are treated.

Prepaid card casino bonus eligibility at five UK casinos

Here's where a prepaid deposit stands at each partner, based on their published offer terms and help centres. Where a partner hasn't published something, we say so rather than guess.

Does a prepaid deposit qualify for the welcome offer?
CasinoWelcome offerPrepaid or Paysafe depositsAccepts paysafecard for deposits?
CoralBet £10 on slots, get 100 free spins (10p each)Excluded (prepaid cards and Paysafe listed)Yes, via a paysafecard account (no vouchers)
LadbrokesPlay £10 on slots, get up to 500 free spins over 10 daysExcluded (prepaid cards and Paysafe listed)Yes, via a paysafecard account (no vouchers)
PlayOJO80 free spins on Big Bass Bonanza, no wagering, £10 first depositNot named in the offer terms we've seenNot named on its help page; check the cashier
Casumo50% bonus up to £100, £20 minimum deposit, 10x wageringNot named, but "payment restrictions apply"Yes, paysafecard listed
10bet100% bonus up to £25, 10x wagering on slotsNot named; only Skrill and Neteller listedListed in published reviews; check the cashier

The table points to two things. First, the two Entain brands, Coral and Ladbrokes (both run by LC International Limited), take the clearest line: prepaid deposits don't count. Each partner's own breakdown sits on its payment methods page, for example Coral's bonus payment methods and Ladbrokes' bonus payment methods.

Second, "not named" is not the same as "accepted". Casumo's offer says payment restrictions apply without spelling them out in the summary we hold, and 10bet's deposit methods come from third-party reviews rather than its own help centre. See Casumo's payment methods for the bonus and 10bet's for what each publishes, and read the full terms on the offer page before you pay in.

Why casinos exclude prepaid cards from welcome bonuses

Our partners don't explain the reasoning in their offer terms, so treat the points below as the general logic behind payment exclusions rather than any one casino's stated policy.

  • Linking the money to you. A bank debit card is tied to a named account that has already passed the bank's own checks. A voucher bought with cash is not, so it tells the casino less about who paid.
  • Getting withdrawals back to the same place. Coral and Ladbrokes run a closed-loop policy: withdrawals go back to the method you deposited with where possible. Vouchers often can't receive money, which complicates paying out bonus winnings.
  • Stopping repeat sign-ups. Welcome offers are one per person. Payment details that are hard to trace make it harder to spot someone opening several accounts, which is one reason offers exclude anonymous payment types.

Our guide to how payment exclusions work goes through the same logic for every method, including why PayPal and e-wallets are often treated the same way.

What a prepaid deposit costs you on each welcome offer

The practical cost of paying with an excluded method is the bonus you don't get. Spin value is simply spins × stake, and the average return depends on the game's RTP, which is a long-run figure: any one session can land far above or below it.

Welcome value missed or at stake with a prepaid deposit
OfferPrepaid statusBonus valueAverage return or cost (illustration)
Coral 100 free spinsExcluded100 × 10p = £10 of spinsAbout £9.60 back at 96% RTP
Ladbrokes up to 500 free spinsExcludedUp to 500 × 10p = £50 of spins over 10 daysAbout £48 back at 96% RTP if all 500 are claimed
PlayOJO 80 free spinsNot named as excluded80 × 10p = £8 of spinsAbout £7.74 back at Big Bass Bonanza's published 96.71% RTP
Casumo 50% up to £100Not named, restrictions apply£20 deposit → £10 bonus; £200 → £100£100 bonus × 10 = £1,000 wagering; about £40 average cost at a 4% house edge
10bet 100% up to £25Not named£25 deposit → £25 bonus£250 wagering in 3 days; about £10 average cost at 4%

Two points stand out. On the free spins offers there's no wagering, so the full spin value is what you lose if the deposit doesn't qualify. On the match bonuses, the bonus itself is larger but the 10x wagering cap still means hundreds of pounds of play, and the house edge eats into it as you go. A bonus never changes a game's odds.

Spin values here assume every spin is claimed and played at its 10p stake. With Ladbrokes, missing a day's 23:59 claim deadline means those 50 spins are gone, which is why the table says "up to".

How to check a prepaid card qualifies before you deposit

Most "my bonus never arrived" problems come down to the qualifying deposit. These checks take a couple of minutes and save the frustration:

  1. Open the offer's full terms from the promotion page, not just the banner, and find the section on payment methods or excluded deposits.
  2. Search the terms for "prepaid", "Paysafe" and "e-wallet". If any of them appears, assume your prepaid card won't count.
  3. If the terms say only "payment restrictions apply" or "certain methods excluded", ask live chat or the help centre which methods qualify before paying in.
  4. Check the cashier minimum: PlayOJO needs £10 for its offer, Casumo £20 and 10bet a first deposit within 7 days of choosing the casino bonus.
  5. Use a method that qualifies for the first deposit, then keep a note of the date, amount and method in case you need to query a missing bonus.

If something still goes wrong, our answer to why was my bonus not credited? lists the usual causes and who to contact.

Paysafecard at Coral and Ladbrokes: accepted, but not for the spins

Coral's and Ladbrokes' help centres list paysafecard as a payment method, with one detail that matters: it works through a paysafecard account only, and vouchers aren't taken. A paysafecard account lets you pay with a login rather than typing in a 16-digit code. You can see the full list on Coral's deposit methods page (opens in a new tab).

Being accepted for deposits doesn't make it a qualifying method. Both welcome offers exclude Paysafe, so a first deposit by paysafecard account would leave you playing without the spins. Other rules from the two help centres are worth knowing before you choose:

  • Withdrawals to paysafecard are possible only if you've previously deposited with paysafecard.
  • A single UK deposit can't exceed £2,000.
  • You can have up to three active payment methods in a rolling 30 days, so adding a prepaid method alongside a debit card and a wallet uses up your allowance.
  • Neither brand charges withdrawal fees.

Our dedicated paysafecard casino bonus page covers the voucher itself in more depth, including the monthly fees paysafecard can charge on an unused balance.

Withdrawing bonus winnings when you've paid by prepaid card

Getting money out is where prepaid payments are most awkward. Many vouchers can't receive funds at all, so casinos send the withdrawal to a different method in your name, often a bank account. That's normal, but it means you'll need bank details on file and may be asked to verify them.

UK rules that shape prepaid card deposits and bonuses

Prepaid cards sit inside the same rulebook as every other payment. The ones that matter most are:

  • No credit, even indirectly. Since 14 April 2020 licensed operators can't accept gambling payments by credit card, including credit card payments made through a money service business, under LCCP condition 6.1.2 (opens in a new tab). Loading a prepaid product from a credit card to fund gambling runs against the purpose of that rule. Our credit card ban page has the detail.
  • Identity first. Since May 2019 your age and identity must be verified before you can deposit or gamble, bonus or no bonus. A prepaid voucher doesn't avoid that step.
  • A limit prompt before the first deposit. Since 31 October 2025 operators must ask you to set a financial limit before your first deposit, and opting out has to be confirmed.
  • Checks at £150 net deposits. Since 28 February 2025 operators run a financial vulnerability check when deposits minus withdrawals pass £150 in a rolling 30 days, whatever method you use.
  • Wagering capped at 10x. Since 19 January 2026 bonus wagering can't exceed 10 times the bonus, and promotions mixing products (such as sports bets for casino spins) are banned.

None of these rules says casinos must accept or reward prepaid cards. Which methods qualify for an offer is the operator's choice, provided it's stated clearly in the terms.

Prepaid cards, budgets and safer gambling tools

Some people reach for a prepaid card to cap their spending: once the card's empty, it's empty. That can feel like a limit, but it isn't one the casino can see or enforce, and a reloadable card can be topped up in seconds. The tools built for the job work better:

  • A deposit limit set in your casino account; decreases take effect immediately. Our guide on how to set deposit limits shows where to find them at each partner.
  • Time-outs and reality checks, which pause play or remind you how long you've been playing.
  • GAMSTOP, which blocks you from all UK-licensed online casinos for the period you choose.
  • Your bank's gambling block, which stops card payments to gambling merchants. The Gambling Commission's page on blocking gambling transactions with your bank (opens in a new tab) lists the banks that offer one.

Gambling is entertainment that costs money, and over time losses are the likely result. If it's stopped feeling like that, the National Gambling Helpline is free and open 24/7 on 0808 8020 133, run by GamCare (opens in a new tab).

Payment methods that do qualify for a casino bonus

If your goal is the welcome offer rather than prepaid payment as such, these are the methods to look at. Always confirm against the specific offer's terms.

Prepaid card casino bonus: the closest partner offers

No partner offers a prepaid card casino bonus, and the two spin offers most people ask about, Coral and Ladbrokes, rule prepaid deposits out. The offers shown below are the ones whose published exclusions don't mention prepaid cards. That's not a promise your card will qualify, so check the full terms on each offer page first. All are for new customers aged 18+, and terms apply.

  • 10bet: 100% match up to £25 on a first deposit made within 7 days of choosing the casino welcome bonus; wager the bonus 10x on slots within 3 days; max bonus winnings £1,000. Skrill and Neteller deposits are excluded.
  • PlayOJO: 80 free spins on Big Bass Bonanza at 10p each (£8 of spins) with a £10 minimum first deposit; no wagering, so winnings are paid as cash. Not available in Northern Ireland and only through the designated offer link.
  • Casumo: 50% bonus up to £100 on a first deposit of at least £20, opt-in required; wager 10x within 7 days with a £5 maximum bet. Game, play and payment restrictions apply.

If you can use a bank debit card instead, Coral's 100 spins after a £10 slots bet and Ladbrokes' up to 500 spins over 10 days come back into play, subject to their own terms. Our PlayOJO payment methods page lists what PlayOJO names for deposits.

Frequently asked questions

Can I get a casino bonus with a prepaid card in the UK?

Sometimes, but not at Coral or Ladbrokes. Both list prepaid cards and Paysafe as deposits that don't qualify for their welcome free spins. PlayOJO, Casumo and 10bet don't name prepaid cards in the exclusions we've seen, although Casumo says payment restrictions apply and 10bet's accepted methods aren't published in its own help centre. Read the full offer terms and ask support before depositing if the wording is vague. Our Can I use a prepaid card for a bonus? answer covers this in brief.

Does paysafecard count as a prepaid card for bonus terms?

Yes, in practice it is treated as a prepaid payment, and offers usually list it under "Paysafe". Coral and Ladbrokes exclude Paysafe from their welcome spins even though both accept paysafecard for ordinary deposits through a paysafecard account. They don't take paysafecard vouchers. If you want the welcome spins at either brand, the qualifying deposit has to be made with a method that isn't on the exclusion list. See our paysafecard casino bonus page for more.

What happens if I deposit with a prepaid card by mistake?

Usually the deposit is credited as normal cash, but the welcome bonus isn't added. At Coral that means no 100 free spins after your £10 slots bet; at Ladbrokes, no daily spins. Contact support straight away and ask whether anything can be done, but don't expect the offer to be reapplied, because the terms make the exclusion clear. Your deposit stays yours to play with or withdraw. Our why was my bonus not credited? page explains the next steps.

Why do casinos exclude prepaid cards from bonuses?

Our partners don't publish a reason, but the general logic is about tracing and repaying money. A voucher bought with cash says little about who paid, it often can't receive withdrawals, and it makes repeat sign-ups for one-per-person offers harder to spot. Excluding prepaid deposits is a blunt way to manage those risks. It is the operator's choice, provided the exclusion is stated clearly in the terms. Our guide to how payment exclusions work goes into more detail.

Can I withdraw winnings to a prepaid card?

Often not to a voucher, though some prepaid accounts can receive money. At Coral and Ladbrokes, withdrawals to paysafecard are possible only if you've deposited with paysafecard before, and both brands also pay out by Fast Bank Transfer, which takes 2–4 business days once approved. Neither charges withdrawal fees. Where a prepaid method can't take the payout, the casino sends it to another method in your name. See how long withdrawals take after a bonus.

Is a prepaid Mastercard or Visa the same as a debit card?

Not for bonus purposes. A reloadable prepaid Mastercard or Visa looks like a debit card, but it draws on money loaded in advance rather than a bank account, and casino payment systems can usually tell the difference. Coral and Ladbrokes exclude prepaid cards by name, so this kind of card won't trigger their spins. A bank-issued debit card is the safer choice for a qualifying deposit. Read our debit card casino bonus guide for how ordinary debit cards are treated.

Can I load a prepaid card with a credit card and use it at a casino?

You shouldn't, and operators are meant to stop it. Since 14 April 2020 UK-licensed casinos can't accept gambling payments by credit card, including those routed through a money service business, and the Gambling Commission expects operators taking e-wallet payments to check the money wasn't loaded from a credit card. Using a prepaid product as a go-between defeats the purpose of the ban. Our credit card ban explainer and can I use a credit card at a casino? cover the rule.

Is a prepaid card a good way to control gambling spend?

It's a weak control on its own. The casino can't see or enforce the limit, and a reloadable card can be topped up in moments. Deposit limits set in your casino account are better because decreases take effect immediately and increases are delayed, and since 31 October 2025 you're prompted to set one before your first deposit. Time-outs, reality checks, GAMSTOP and bank gambling blocks add further protection. Our deposit limit glossary entry explains how limits work.

Do I need to verify my identity if I pay by prepaid card?

Yes. Since May 2019 every UK-licensed online casino must check your age and identity before you deposit or gamble, whatever payment method you use. Paying by voucher doesn't skip that step, and you may still be asked for documents later, for example when you withdraw or when your net deposits pass £150 in 30 days and a financial vulnerability check is triggered. Our guide on how to verify your casino account explains what is usually asked for.

Which payment method is most likely to qualify for a welcome bonus?

A bank debit card is the most widely accepted qualifying method, although Coral's terms exclude "certain debit cards" without naming them in the summary we've seen. Pay by Bank isn't on Coral's or Ladbrokes' listed exclusions, and Apple Pay or Google Pay depend on the card behind the wallet. E-wallets and prepaid cards are the methods most often excluded. Check the offer terms either way. Our casino bonus payment methods hub compares every option.

Can I use a prepaid card for later deposits after claiming a bonus?

Yes, where the casino accepts it, because exclusions usually apply only to the qualifying deposit. Bear in mind Coral and Ladbrokes allow up to three active payment methods in a rolling 30 days, and their closed-loop policy means withdrawals go back to the method you deposited with where possible. Some offers also restrict which deposits count during wagering, so read the terms while a bonus is active. Our bonus terms guide explains how to find those clauses.
