A Starling casino bonus isn't a special offer: no casino rewards you for banking with Starling, but a deposit from a Starling debit card is an ordinary bank debit card payment, and none of our partners names Starling among its excluded methods. Here's how each route from a Starling account fits each welcome offer, the clause to watch at Coral, and how Starling's gambling block affects all of it.
No casino runs a Starling-only bonus; a Starling debit card simply counts as a bank debit card.
None of our five partners names Starling as an excluded method, but Coral's terms exclude unnamed "certain debit cards", so check before depositing.
Apple Pay, Google Pay and Pay by Bank from a Starling account are not on Coral's or Ladbrokes' listed exclusions.
Starling's gambling block stops card payments to most gambling merchants, card by card, with a 48-hour delay to reactivate.
A bonus doesn't change the long-run cost of play: the house edge still applies to every spin.

Starling casino bonus: what you can and can't expect
Starling Bank is a UK current account provider, not a casino payment brand, so you won't find a bonus that rewards Starling customers in particular. What people searching for a Starling casino bonus usually want to know is simpler: will a deposit from my Starling account trigger a welcome offer? For the debit card, the answer at our partners is very likely yes, with one clause at Coral to check first.
None of the five partners we list names Starling, or app-based banks generally, among its excluded payment methods. The exclusions they do publish target e-wallets, prepaid cards and Paysafe. A Starling card isn't any of those. It's a bank debit card drawing on a current account, which is the type of payment welcome offers are generally built around. Our casino bonus payment methods hub compares Starling with every other option.
This page is for UK adults aged 18+. Offers were last checked on 5 October 2026 and terms apply to all of them. Nothing here is affiliated with or endorsed by Starling Bank.
Three ways to pay a casino from a Starling account
From one Starling account you can reach a casino cashier in three different ways, and each is treated as a separate payment method by the casino. That matters because offer terms list methods, not banks.

Coral's "certain debit cards" clause and Starling
Coral's offer is the only one of the five that excludes some debit cards. The wording we've seen doesn't say which. That leaves Starling customers, along with everyone else, unable to tell from the offer summary alone whether their card counts.
We can't confirm which cards Coral has in mind, and we won't guess. The honest advice is to ask before you deposit, because a deposit that turns out not to qualify can't usually be turned into a qualifying one afterwards:
Open Coral's full offer terms from the promotion page and look for any list of excluded card types.
If there's no list, ask Coral's live chat whether a Starling debit card qualifies for the 100 free spins, and keep a copy of the answer.
Coral and Ladbrokes are both run by LC International Limited, so the same person may not be able to open new accounts with both; read do Coral and Ladbrokes share accounts? before planning to claim both offers.
Starling casino bonus maths: three worked examples
These examples assume a qualifying Starling debit card deposit. They show what each offer is worth on paper and what it costs on average. RTP and house edge are long-run averages; a real session can go well above or below them.
Example 1: £10 at Coral
You deposit £10 and bet £10 on slots, which is the qualifying bet. Coral credits 100 free spins at 10p, so £10 of spins, which you must accept within 48 hours and use within 7 days. At a 96% RTP the spins return about £9.60 on average. There's no wagering on spin winnings, so whatever they return is cash.
Example 2: £20 at Casumo
You opt in and deposit £20, the minimum. The 50% match adds £10 of bonus funds. Wagering is 10 × £10 = £100, to be completed within 7 days, with a £5 maximum bet while the bonus is active. At a 4% house edge, £100 of wagering costs about £4 on average, leaving an expected value of roughly £6 from the £10 bonus. The formula is simply wagering multiplied by house edge.
Example 3: £25 at 10bet
You choose the casino welcome bonus at sign-up and deposit £25 within 7 days. The 100% match adds £25, and wagering is 10 × £25 = £250 on slots within 3 days. At 4%, that's about £10 in average cost. Bonus winnings are capped at £1,000.

How to claim a casino welcome bonus with a Starling card
Check the offer's full terms for payment exclusions and the minimum deposit (£10 at Coral, Ladbrokes and PlayOJO; £20 at Casumo).
Register and complete age and identity checks, which UK casinos must do before you can deposit.
Set your deposit limit when the cashier prompts you before your first deposit.
Opt in or choose the offer if the terms require it: Casumo needs an opt-in, and 10bet asks you to pick the casino bonus at sign-up.
Deposit with your Starling debit card, or the wallet or Pay by Bank route you've confirmed qualifies, and approve any security check in the Starling app.
Complete the qualifying step, such as the £10 slots bet at Coral, then accept the spins within the time allowed.
If the bonus hasn't arrived, contact support with the date, amount and payment method before playing further.
If a deposit is declined, the most common cause for Starling customers is that the gambling block is switched on for that card, covered next. For bonuses that don't appear after a successful deposit, see why was my bonus not credited?
Starling's gambling block and what it means for bonuses
Starling lets you block card payments to most gambling merchants, online and in person, from the app (Cards, then Gambling controls). According to Starling's gambling help page (opens in a new tab), the block is set card by card, and if you want to reactivate there's a 48-hour delay designed to make impulse gambling harder. Starling also says the block may not cover every gambling-related payment.
Starling is on the Gambling Commission's list of banks with gambling blocks, alongside Barclays, HSBC, Lloyds, Monzo, NatWest, Santander and others. The page doesn't say whether wallet payments or Pay by Bank are covered, and other banks' blocks show why that matters: Revolut's doesn't affect bank transfers or third-party apps, and Lloyds' doesn't cover transfers.
If you've switched the block on, treat that as the decision it is. Don't look for a different payment route to claim an offer: a bonus is never a reason to undo a block you set to protect yourself. Our step-by-step Starling gambling block guide covers setting it up, and our Monzo and Revolut pages compare how other app-based banks handle it.

Coral's Visa Fast Funds page (opens in a new tab) applies to Visa debit cards, and payouts over £2,000 take longer. Your card's network is printed on the card. Each partner's full process is on our Coral withdrawal and Ladbrokes withdrawal pages. Your own deposit can be withdrawn while a bonus is active, though doing so usually ends the bonus.
UK rules behind debit card deposits and casino bonuses
Paying by Starling debit card puts you on the most straightforward legal footing. Under section 81 of the Gambling Act 2005 (opens in a new tab), a full, non-post-dated debit card payment isn't treated as credit. Credit cards are a different matter: they've been banned for gambling in Great Britain since 14 April 2020, as our credit card ban page explains.
The bonus rules on top are the same whichever bank you use:
Wagering can't exceed 10x the bonus since 19 January 2026, and mixed-product promotions are banned from the same date.
An offer can't be changed or increased because you hit the qualifying spend faster than the offer period.
Slot stakes are capped at £5 per spin for players aged 25+ and £2 for 18–24s, and a bonus max bet such as Casumo's £5 limit applies on top. See online slot stake limits.
When your net deposits pass £150 in a rolling 30 days, the operator must run a financial vulnerability check, a public-record search rather than a credit check.
Starling's help page points customers to several tools beyond the block itself: a Budget Planner, Spending Insights that break spending down by category and merchant, a money worries team for overdrafts or arrears, and an Enhanced Customer Care team you can ask to be referred to. Spending Insights is a quick way to see what gambling has actually cost you over a month.
On the casino side, use the limits that every UK-licensed operator must offer. A deposit limit is the most direct; our guide on how to set deposit limits walks through it. Time-outs, reality checks and self-exclusion go further, and GAMSTOP covers every UK-licensed online casino at once.
Gambling should be paid for out of money you can afford to lose; over time, losing is the likely outcome. If it's causing worry, call the National Gambling Helpline free on 0808 8020 133 (24/7) or visit the Gambling Commission's bank blocking page (opens in a new tab) for other banks' tools.
Using a Starling card with our partner casino offers
No partner offers a Starling-specific bonus. A Starling debit card is the kind of payment our three spin offers are built around, which is why they appear below. Coral is listed first because its 100 spins are the simplest to value, but it's also the offer with the debit card caveat. All are for new customers aged 18+, and terms apply.
Coral: deposit and bet £10+ on slots to get 100 free spins at 10p (£10 of spins), selected games, 48 hours to accept and 7 days to use; no wagering on spin winnings. Neteller, PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill, prepaid cards and certain debit cards don't qualify. Runs 1 October 2026 to 1 February 2027.
Ladbrokes: deposit and spend £10+ on slots to get 50 free spins a day for 10 days (up to 500 at 10p, so up to £50 of spins); claim before 23:59 each day; each batch lasts 7 days; no wagering. Prepaid cards, PayPal, Paysafe, Neteller, Skrill and Moneybookers don't qualify.
PlayOJO: 80 free spins on Big Bass Bonanza at 10p (£8 of spins) on a first deposit of £10 or more; no wagering, winnings paid in cash. Excludes Northern Ireland and can't be combined with other offers.
There's no Starling-specific casino bonus. These are the partner offers where a bank debit card is the expected qualifying method; Coral excludes certain debit cards, so check its terms. 18+, T&Cs apply.
Coral and Ladbrokes are both run by LC International Limited (Entain). If you already hold an account with one Entain brand, you may not be able to open a new account with another; check the terms before signing up.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a Starling casino bonus?
No. Casinos don't run offers for Starling customers in particular. What you can do is use your Starling debit card for an ordinary welcome offer, because none of our partners lists Starling as an excluded method. Coral's terms exclude "certain debit cards" without naming them in the summary we've seen, so confirm with Coral before relying on it. Ladbrokes, PlayOJO, Casumo and 10bet don't exclude debit cards. Our debit card casino bonus page explains how card deposits are treated.
Does a Starling debit card count as a prepaid card?
No. A Starling debit card draws on a current account, which is what separates a bank debit card from a prepaid product loaded with money in advance. That matters because Coral and Ladbrokes exclude prepaid cards from their welcome spins. The one grey area is Coral's "certain debit cards" wording, which isn't explained in the terms we've seen. If you're unsure, ask live chat before you deposit. Our prepaid card casino bonus page covers the prepaid side.
Can I use Apple Pay with my Starling card for a casino bonus?
Usually yes, where the casino takes Apple Pay and the offer doesn't exclude it. Coral and Ladbrokes accept Apple Pay and don't list it among their welcome offer exclusions; Casumo and 10bet take it too, and PlayOJO names it on its help page. The casino sees an Apple Pay payment rather than your card number, so check the offer terms mention wallets. Our Apple Pay casino bonus page goes through each partner.
Why was my casino deposit declined by Starling?
The most common reason is that Starling's gambling block is switched on for that card. The block stops card payments to most gambling merchants online and in person, and it's set separately for each card. Other causes include hitting a deposit limit you set at the casino, the casino's own £2,000 single-deposit cap at Coral and Ladbrokes, or a security check waiting in the Starling app. If you turned the block on deliberately, it's doing its job. See our Starling gambling block guide.
Is there a delay with Starling's gambling block?
Yes. Starling says that if you want to reactivate, there's a 48-hour delay, intended to make impulse gambling and betting harder. Turning it on is done straight from the app under Cards and Gambling controls. Starling also warns the block may not catch every gambling-related payment. If you're thinking about removing it to claim an offer, that's worth pausing on: a welcome bonus doesn't change the long-run cost of play. Our bank gambling block guides cover the details.
Can I withdraw casino winnings to my Starling account?
Yes, casinos generally return winnings to the method you deposited with, so a Starling card deposit usually means a payout to that card or to the account by bank transfer. Coral and Ladbrokes publish Visa Fast Funds times of typically a couple of hours for approval and up to 4 hours to reach the bank, and 2–4 business days for Fast Bank Transfer. Neither charges withdrawal fees. Our page on how long withdrawals take after a bonus compares the rest.
Does Pay by Bank from Starling qualify for a bonus?
At Coral and Ladbrokes, Pay by Bank isn't on the welcome offer exclusion lists, and both publish a £5 minimum for it, though the offers themselves need £10 on slots. You approve the payment in your banking app, and no card details are shared. Check that Starling appears in the bank list when you choose Pay by Bank. Starling's block is described as covering card payments, so it may not stop these. Our Pay by Bank casino bonus page explains more.
Can I use a Starling overdraft to gamble?
We'd advise against it. A Starling debit card payment isn't treated as credit under the Gambling Act, but borrowing to gamble is a warning sign whatever the legal position. Starling's own money worries team helps customers with overdrafts or arrears, and the National Gambling Helpline is free on 0808 8020 133. Gambling should only ever use money you can afford to lose. Our guide on bonuses and gambling harm covers when an offer isn't worth taking.
Do I need to verify my identity before using a Starling card at a casino?
Yes. Since May 2019 UK-licensed casinos must verify your age and identity before you can deposit or gamble, including with a bonus. A Starling card in your name helps the checks match, but the casino may still ask for documents such as a passport, driving licence or proof of address. PlayOJO, for example, aims to verify within 12 hours. Our guide on how to verify your casino account explains the process at each stage.
Can I claim both Coral and Ladbrokes bonuses with my Starling card?
Possibly not. Both brands are run by LC International Limited, part of Entain, so holding new-customer status at both may not be allowed. The payment method doesn't change that: it's an account eligibility question, not a card question. Read both offers' terms and ask support if the wording is unclear before opening a second account. Our answer to can you claim two welcome bonuses? explains how one-per-person rules usually work.
