Third deposit bonus

A third deposit bonus is the last stage of a three-part welcome package: a bonus added to your third payment into a new casino account. No UK partner of ours offers one, because all five welcome offers end after a single qualifying deposit or bet. This page shows how the third stage works, what a full three-deposit ladder really costs, and which rules shape it.

Key takeaways

  • A third deposit bonus only exists inside a staged welcome package; it's rarely offered on its own.
  • Judge the whole ladder, not the final rung: three deposits, three wagering totals and three expiry dates.
  • A typical three-stage example with £50 deposits gives £87.50 of bonus but needs £875 of wagering, costing about £35 on average.
  • Three deposits in a month put most people past the £150 net-deposit point that triggers a financial vulnerability check.
  • None of our partners runs a third deposit stage; Ladbrokes spreads its spins over 10 days from one £10 spend instead.

Third deposit bonus meaning

In casino marketing, a third deposit bonus is the closing step of a multi-deposit welcome offer. You get stage one on your first payment, stage two on the second deposit bonus, and stage three on the next. Headline figures such as "up to £300 across your first three deposits" are built by adding all three stages together, which is why understanding the last rung matters: it is often the smallest part of the headline yet carries its own full set of conditions.

The third stage might be a modest match (25% is a common shape), a set of bonus spins, or a mix. It's listed with other staged offers on our types of casino bonus hub, and the wider structure is explained on our welcome package page.

Is a third deposit bonus available at UK partner casinos?

Not from our partners. On 5 October 2026 we checked the welcome terms of Coral, Ladbrokes, PlayOJO, Casumo and 10bet. Each offer completes with one action: a first deposit at PlayOJO, Casumo and 10bet, or a £10 slots bet or spend at Coral and Ladbrokes. PlayOJO's help pages add that deposit-based offers can be used once unless stated otherwise.

That's not a gap we'd paper over. A three-stage package spreads value thinly across several deposits, and since the 10x wagering cap came in, many UK operators have moved towards simpler single offers. If a casino you're considering does advertise a third deposit stage, the rest of this page shows how to check it.

Where the third deposit sits in a typical package

A three-stage offer runs like a short calendar. The order below is the usual pattern; the exact days and amounts are always in the terms.

  1. Day 0: register, pass identity checks and set a financial limit when prompted.
  2. Stage one: first deposit and the largest match or spin bundle.
  3. Stage two: second deposit, often within a set number of days of joining.
  4. Stage three: third deposit, usually the smallest bonus, with the same overall deadline counting down.
  5. Each stage's wagering (10x its bonus at most) runs on its own clock unless the terms combine them.
  6. The package closes when the overall deadline passes, whether or not every stage was claimed.

Third deposit bonus maths across the whole ladder

Here is a hypothetical package so the sums are concrete: 100% on the first deposit, 50% on the second and 25% on the third, each up to £100, each with 10x wagering, with £50 deposited at every stage. The cost column assumes slots with a 4% house edge, which is a long-run average rather than a prediction for any session.

A three-stage welcome ladder with £50 deposits
StageDepositMatchBonusWagering at 10xAverage cost of wagering
First£50100%£50£500£20
Second£5050%£25£250£10
Third£5025%£12.50£125£5
Total£150£87.50£875£35

On average the package leaves about £87.50 − £35 = £52.50 of expected bonus value, but notice where it comes from. The third stage contributes £12.50 of bonus and about £7.50 of expected value after wagering, in exchange for a third deposit of £50. On its own, that last rung returns roughly 15p of expected value per pound deposited, before any max-win cap or excluded games reduce it.

The bigger number is the £875 of total wagering, which means a lot of play time across three short windows. Use our wagering calculator to test other amounts, and see how to calculate wagering requirements for the method behind it.

Conditions that usually come with the third stage

Because it closes a package, the third stage tends to carry conditions that depend on what came before. These are the ones to look for in the terms:

  • Earlier stages claimed: some packages require stages one and two to have been taken before stage three opens.
  • Earlier wagering completed: others won't credit the third bonus while an earlier one is still being played through, which links to the bonus queue.
  • A fresh opt-in: each stage may need its own acceptance; see our guide on how to opt in to a bonus.
  • Overall deadline: a single window, counted from sign-up, for all three stages.
  • Same payment rules: excluded methods normally apply at every stage.
  • Separate validity: each bonus has its own validity period once credited.

The real cost of chasing all three stages

Staged packages can make three deposits feel like one decision. They aren't. By stage three you've usually experienced two sessions of real-money play, and the outcome of those should shape whether a third deposit makes sense at all.

Questions for each stage of a three-deposit offer
Before…Ask yourselfIf the answer is no
First depositIs this amount within my monthly entertainment budget?Deposit less or don't join
Second depositDid stage one cost what I expected, and do I still want to play?Stop; your deposit balance stays withdrawable
Third depositWould I deposit again now if there were no bonus?Skip stage three; the earlier bonuses aren't affected unless the terms say so

If a third deposit would mean replacing money lost in the first two stages, that's chasing losses, and no bonus makes it a good idea. Our guide to budgeting with a casino bonus suggests ways to set a fixed limit before you start.

UK rules on a third deposit bonus in 2026

Each stage of a package is an incentive in its own right, so each must meet the Gambling Commission's rules. The table lists those that bite hardest on a three-deposit offer.

Third deposit bonus vs one bigger first-deposit bonus

Is it better to have value spread across three deposits, or concentrated in one? Comparing the ladder above with a single offer makes the trade-offs clear. The single offer below is Casumo's real welcome bonus; the ladder remains hypothetical.

Casumo's offer is 18+, for new customers who opt in, with a £20 minimum first deposit (£20 gives £10 of bonus) and game, play and payment restrictions. A single offer means one set of terms and one deadline; a ladder means you can stop part-way. Neither changes the odds of the games. Our first deposit bonus page compares single offers in more depth.

Withdrawing part-way through a three-stage package

You can take out your deposit balance at any point. The Commission's guidance on withdrawing deposits while a bonus is active (opens in a new tab) says operators must allow it even when funds are allocated to a bonus, and must not make you meet wagering on your own money first.

What a withdrawal can cost you is the active bonus and its winnings, and in some packages the right to claim later stages. If the terms say a withdrawal ends the package, that must be shown clearly. Our page on what happens to a bonus when you withdraw covers the details.

Checklist before claiming a third deposit bonus

  1. Find the stage-three terms and confirm the minimum deposit, match, cap and wagering.
  2. Check whether earlier bonuses must be finished first.
  3. Confirm the overall deadline and the stage's own validity period.
  4. Make sure your payment method qualifies.
  5. Work out the wagering in pounds and the average cost at the games' house edge.
  6. Ask whether you'd make this deposit without the bonus. If not, skip it.

Our printable casino bonus checklist covers the same ground for any offer.

Safer gambling across multiple deposits

Multi-stage offers are where a planned single deposit can turn into three. Setting a monthly deposit limit at sign-up, and leaving it in place, is the simplest protection. If you notice you're depositing to recover earlier losses, take a break: the National Gambling Helpline (0808 8020 133, run by GamCare) is free and open 24/7, and GAMSTOP (opens in a new tab) lets you self-exclude from all UK-licensed sites.

Single-step partner offers in place of a third deposit bonus

Since none of our partners has a third deposit stage, the offers below are the honest alternatives: each needs one qualifying step and has no wagering on spin winnings. 18+, new customers only, and full terms apply.

  • Coral: deposit (certain types excluded) and bet £10 on slots for 100 free spins on selected games at 10p each, £10 of spins in total. Accept within 48 hours; spins valid 7 days; no wagering on winnings. Runs 1 October 2026 to 1 February 2027. Neteller, PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill, prepaid cards and certain debit cards don't qualify.
  • Ladbrokes: deposit and spend £10 on slots for 50 free spins a day over the first 10 days (500 maximum, up to £50 of spins at 10p). Claim before 23:59 each day; valid 7 days; no wagering. Prepaid cards, PayPal, Paysafe, Neteller, Skrill and Moneybookers deposits don't qualify.
  • PlayOJO: a first deposit of £10 or more brings 80 free spins on Big Bass Bonanza at 10p (£8 of spins); no wagering, winnings paid in cash. Excludes Northern Ireland; only via the offer link.

Ladbrokes' daily spins come closest to the spread-out feel of a package, without asking for further deposits. Coral and Ladbrokes share an operator, LC International Limited, so check the terms on holding new accounts at both. More detail on our Ladbrokes free spins page.

Frequently asked questions

What does third deposit bonus mean?

It means a bonus paid on the third deposit you make into a new casino account, as the final stage of a three-part welcome package. It's usually the smallest stage, such as a 25% match up to a cap or a small bundle of spins. Like any deposit offer, it comes with a minimum deposit, eligible payment methods, wagering of no more than 10x the bonus and an expiry date. Our match bonus page explains how percentage matches work.

Do any UK casinos offer a third deposit bonus?

Some UK-licensed casinos do run staged packages, but none of our five partners does. Coral, Ladbrokes, PlayOJO, Casumo and 10bet all base their welcome offers on one qualifying deposit or bet, according to the terms we checked on 5 October 2026. If you see a third deposit stage elsewhere, check the operator's licence on the Gambling Commission register first. Our guide on how to check a casino licence shows how.

How much wagering does a third deposit bonus need?

No more than 10 times the bonus, under the Gambling Commission rule in force since 19 January 2026. A £12.50 third-stage bonus would need at most £125 of wagering; a £25 one at most £250. Game weighting can mean you need more play if you use games that count for less than 100%. Remember that earlier stages carry their own wagering too. See our guide to game weighting for how contributions work.

Is the third deposit bonus worth claiming?

Usually it's the weakest part of a package. In a typical example, a £50 third deposit with a 25% match gives £12.50 of bonus, which after £125 of wagering at a 4% house edge leaves about £7.50 of expected value. That's small compared with the deposit it requires. It only makes sense if you'd have made that deposit anyway. Our page big bonus vs small bonus explores how size affects real value.

Can I skip the second deposit and still get the third deposit bonus?

That depends on the package terms. Some casinos treat each stage independently, while others require the earlier stages to be claimed in order. The rule is a significant condition and should be clear in the offer, not buried in general terms. If it's ambiguous, ask support in writing before depositing. Under consumer law, unclear terms are read in the way most favourable to you; see are bonus terms legally binding.

Do I have to finish the first two bonuses before the third?

Often, yes. Many casinos only allow one active bonus at a time, so the third bonus waits until earlier ones are wagered, forfeited or expired. Others queue bonuses or combine them. Your deposit balance remains withdrawable throughout, whatever the queue looks like. Check the bonus area of your account to see which bonus is active. Our page on how to check bonus wagering progress explains where to look.

Will three deposits trigger checks on my account?

Quite possibly. Since 28 February 2025, UK operators must run a financial vulnerability check when deposits minus withdrawals pass £150 in a rolling 30-day period. Three deposits of £50 in a month reach that point. The check uses public records such as bankruptcies and county court judgments and usually needs nothing from you. Credit-reference affordability checks are not live. See how affordability checks affect bonuses for the full picture.

Can a casino change the third stage after I've claimed the first?

Gambling Commission guidance says operators must not change the terms of a promotion once a player has opted in, except in narrow cases such as preventing fraud. Whether stage three is covered depends on whether you opted in to the whole package or to each stage separately, so check the wording. If terms change after you've signed up, raise it with the casino. Our page can bonus terms change after I opt in covers your rights.

Can I use a different payment method for the third deposit?

Usually, as long as it's a method the offer accepts. Excluded methods for staged offers commonly include Skrill, Neteller and prepaid cards, and some casinos also exclude PayPal. Casinos may also limit how many payment methods you can use in a period; Coral and Ladbrokes, for example, allow three active payment methods per rolling 30 days. Read our guide to choosing a payment method for a bonus before switching.

What's better: a three-stage package or a no-wagering offer?

For most people a simple no-wagering offer is easier to understand and to value. A three-stage package can show a bigger headline, but it asks for more deposits and much more wagering, with several deadlines. A no-wagering spins offer pays winnings as cash, so its value is roughly the spins' stake multiplied by the slot's RTP. Our no wagering bonus page explains how those offers compare.
