Advent free spins

Advent free spins are small daily batches of spins that a casino releases through December, normally one calendar door per day for customers who already hold an account. None of our five partner casinos has a verified advent offer as of October 2026, so this page sets out how these calendars work, what the spins are really worth and which terms decide that value.

Key takeaways

  • No partner advent free spins offer is verified for 2026; the closest real structure is Ladbrokes' 50 spins a day for 10 days (18+, £10 slots spend, terms apply).
  • A door of 10 spins at 10p is £1 of spins, returning about 96p on average at 96% RTP.
  • Any wagering on spin winnings is capped at 10x the bonus since 19 January 2026.
  • Calendars mixing sports bets and casino spins have been banned since 19 January 2026.
  • Each door usually has its own claim window, game list and expiry, so read the daily terms.

What advent free spins are and how the daily doors work

An advent free spins promotion borrows the shape of a paper advent calendar. A grid of numbered doors appears on the casino's promotions page or in its app, and from 1 December (sometimes earlier, sometimes only to 24 December) one door opens each day. Behind most doors sits a fixed number of spins on one or more named slots, played at a set stake. Some doors hide something else entirely, such as a prize-draw ticket, a small cash prize or entry to a leaderboard, but this page concentrates on the spin doors.

Three things separate an advent calendar from an ordinary free spins offer. First, it is almost always aimed at existing customers rather than new sign-ups, so it sits alongside reload and loyalty spins rather than a welcome bonus. Second, every door is a short-lived promotion in its own right, with its own claim window, qualifying action and expiry. Third, the total on offer is spread thinly: a calendar that promises "hundreds of spins" across December may hand out only 5, 10 or 20 on any given day.

Advent spins belong to the wider family of seasonal and recurring promotions listed on our bonus types hub. They are close cousins of the advent calendar bonus, which can include deposit matches and prizes, and of the general Christmas casino bonus. The difference here is that every reward is a spin, so the value can be measured in a precise way.

Typical door mechanics

  • Open and claim: you open the day's door and press a claim or opt-in button before a stated time.
  • Qualifying action: some doors ask for nothing more than opting in; others ask you to deposit or stake a set amount on slots that day.
  • Play window: the spins must be used within a validity period, often 24 hours to 7 days.
  • Winnings: spin winnings are paid either as cash (no wagering) or as bonus funds that carry a playthrough requirement.

Is there an advent free spins offer from our partners in 2026?

Not one that we can confirm. Our partner offers were last checked on 5 October 2026, and none of Coral, Ladbrokes, PlayOJO, Casumo or 10bet had a dated seasonal or advent promotion published at that point. A casino can add a December promotion later, but we won't describe terms we haven't seen. If one appears, it will sit on the casino's promotions page with its own terms, and everything on this page about reading those terms still applies.

What our partners do run all year are new-customer spin offers. The nearest thing to an advent calendar's "spins every day" format is Ladbrokes: 18+ new customers who deposit and spend £10 or more on slots get 50 spins a day for the first 10 days, up to 500 in total, each worth 10p, with no wagering. Each day's batch must be claimed before 23:59 and is valid for 7 days, and prepaid card, PayPal, Paysafe, Neteller, Skrill and Moneybookers deposits don't qualify. The full breakdown is on our Ladbrokes free spins page.

Coral and Ladbrokes are both run by LC International Limited (Entain). One person may not be able to take new-customer offers at both, so check the terms before opening a second account. For more, see whether Coral and Ladbrokes share accounts explains more.

What advent free spins are worth: door-by-door maths

The face value of any spin offer is simple: number of spins multiplied by the stake per spin. A door of 10 spins at 10p is £1 of spins. What you can expect back on average is that face value multiplied by the slot's return to player (RTP). At 96% RTP, £1 of spins returns about 96p on average over a very large number of spins. Over 10 spins the actual result swings widely: most small batches return less than their face value, and a few return much more.

Because advent doors are small, the total across December matters more than any single day. The table below models a made-up 24-door calendar. It is an illustration of the maths, not a real offer from any casino.

Illustrative advent free spins calendar: face value and average return at 96% RTP
DoorsSpins per doorStake per spinFace valueAverage return at 96% RTP
Doors 1–101010p£10.00 (10 × £1)about £9.60
Doors 11–202010p£20.00 (10 × £2)about £19.20
Doors 21–232520p£15.00 (3 × £5)about £14.40
Door 245020p£10.00about £9.60
All 24 doors525 spinsmixed£55.00about £52.80

That £55 figure only applies if you claim every single door, use every spin before it expires and meet each door's qualifying action. Miss five early doors and the total drops by £5 of spins. If each door requires a £10 slots stake to qualify, 24 qualifying days means £240 of your own money staked, which at a 4% house edge costs about £9.60 on average. That is a meaningful slice of the calendar's value, and it is money you would only be spending to chase the doors. The honest reading: an advent calendar is worth taking only for days you would have played anyway, within a budget you set beforehand.

How much a single 10p door can pay

The ceiling on any spin is the slot's maximum win multiplied by the stake. On a slot with a 5,000× stake maximum, a 10p spin can in theory pay up to £500; on a slot with a 2,100× maximum, the top is £210. These outcomes are extremely rare. Advent doors may also carry a maximum cashout that limits what spin winnings can be withdrawn, so check for a cap in each door's terms.

Advent free spins with wagering vs no wagering

The single term that changes an advent door's value most is what happens to the winnings. With no wagering free spins, whatever the spins return lands in your cash balance and can be withdrawn. With wagering, the winnings arrive as bonus funds and must be played through a set number of times before they convert to cash.

Since 19 January 2026 the Gambling Commission caps bonus wagering at 10 times the bonus amount (LCCP social responsibility code 5.1.1). Our 10x wagering cap page covers the rule itself and how it reaches spin winnings. Before that date there was no cap, so much higher multiples were allowed; any calendar running in December 2026 for British customers must stay within 10x.

One advent door, two ways of paying out
StepNo wagering10x wagering
Door20 spins at 10p (£2 of spins)20 spins at 10p (£2 of spins)
Example result£3.00 won£3.00 won as bonus funds
Play-through neededNone£30 (10 × £3)
Average cost of play-through at 4% house edge£0about £1.20
Expected amount left to withdraw£3.00about £1.80, if the balance lasts

The wagering column is also less predictable: £30 of play on a high-volatility slot can easily wipe out a £3 balance before the target is reached. For small daily doors, a no-wagering calendar is usually the cleaner deal, but either way the spins don't change the slot's odds and the house edge applies on every stake you add.

The advent free spins terms to read line by line

Calendar promotions often have one master set of terms plus short daily conditions under each door. Read both. Under UK rules, significant conditions must be shown with the headline offer and the full terms kept within one click, so you shouldn't have to dig through a general terms page. Knowing how to read a promotions page helps you spot where these usually sit.

Advent free spins terms and what each one means for value

WinningsCash or bonus funds; any wagering multiple; any max cashoutDecides how much of a win you can actually withdraw

Payment exclusions deserve particular attention in December, when more people top up from gift cards and e-wallets. Excluded methods are listed in the terms, and a deposit made with one usually won't count towards that day's door, even if the money reaches your balance normally.

How to claim advent free spins, step by step

Every calendar has its own flow, but the order of checks below works for most. It assumes your account is already verified, since UK-licensed casinos must confirm your age and identity before you can deposit or gamble.

  1. Set or review a deposit limit for December before the calendar starts, so the doors fit a budget rather than the other way round.
  2. Read the master terms once: who is eligible, whether there's a single opt-in, and which payment methods are excluded.
  3. Each day, open the door and read its own conditions: number of spins, stake per spin, slot, qualifying action and claim deadline.
  4. Opt in or claim before the stated time. If a qualifying deposit or stake is needed, decide whether that day is one you'd play anyway.
  5. Open the named slot and use the spins within the validity period; check that the spins counter shows the right number.
  6. Check where the winnings landed: cash balance (no wagering) or bonus balance (wagering applies).
  7. If spins don't appear, take a screenshot of the door and the terms and contact support before the claim window closes.

Christmas slots that often carry advent free spins

Advent doors are frequently attached to festive versions of popular slots, though a calendar can name any game. The specifications below come from published game data; RTP can vary between versions, so check the game's help screen at the casino you use, which shows the RTP of the version you're playing. We aren't saying any partner carries these games or uses them for spins.

Volatility changes how small advent doors feel. On a high-volatility game such as Big Bass Christmas Bash or Sugar Rush Xmas, ten spins will often return little or nothing, with value concentrated in rare bonus rounds. A medium-volatility game such as Sweet Bonanza Xmas tends to spread smaller returns across more spins. Our page on Christmas Big Bass Bonanza free spins covers the festive fishing game in more depth.

One difference worth knowing: an RTP of 96.71% versus 94.15% is about £2.56 per £100 staked on average. Across a calendar of 10p spins that gap is pennies, but it is still a reason to check which version a door uses.

UK rules that shape advent free spins in 2026

Several rules introduced or tightened over the past few years change what a December calendar can look like for players in Great Britain. Dates matter here, because older advent offers you might remember from 2024 or earlier would not all be allowed now.

Mixed sports and casino doors banned since 19 January 2026

Festive calendars used to mix products: a free bet on Boxing Day football behind one door, casino spins behind the next, or spins released only after a sports bet. Since 19 January 2026, the Gambling Commission bans incentives that combine more than one type of gambling product, such as betting and casino, for new and existing customers alike. The Commission's announcement on safer and simpler promotions (opens in a new tab) gives betting plus slots as the example. A calendar can still exist on a sportsbook and a casino from the same brand, but a single offer can't require or reward both. Our mixed-product promotion ban page has the detail.

Rewards tied to playing on set days

The Commission's incentive code says a casino must not alter or increase a reward because the qualifying activity or spend was reached in a shorter time than the whole period the offer runs for. In practice, a door's prize shouldn't get bigger just because you hit its target faster. A calendar where each door is a standalone offer is simpler to judge than one that says "play every day to make door 24 bigger". If a promotion looks like the latter, read the terms carefully, as they must be clear and fair, and see our page on the time-based incentive rules.

Opt-in and no changes after you join

Gambling Commission guidance says players must opt in to promotions rather than be enrolled automatically, and that an operator must not keep terms letting it vary or withdraw a promotion after you've opted in (opens in a new tab), except where needed to prevent fraud or other unlawful behaviour. For a calendar, that means the conditions of a door you've claimed shouldn't change underneath you.

Date exclusions are significant conditions

Advertising rules require significant conditions to be stated clearly with the offer. The ASA's guidance on free bets and bonuses (opens in a new tab) lists eligibility, deposit or wagering requirements and time limits among them, and summarises an August 2025 ruling where a free bet voucher's exclusion of a single race day was a significant condition that the ad left out. A calendar that skips Christmas Day or limits doors to certain dates should say so up front. Our significant conditions in ads page explains the rule.

Festive imagery and under-18s

Since 1 October 2022, gambling ads must not be of strong appeal to under-18s. Christmas promotions lean on elves, snowmen and cartoon Santas, which is exactly the territory the ASA's guidance on gambling ads and children (opens in a new tab) addresses. Operators have to keep seasonal artwork adult in tone.

Other rules that still apply in December

  • Stake limits: online slots are capped at £5 per spin for players aged 25 and over (since 9 April 2025) and £2 for 18–24s (since 21 May 2025).
  • Marketing consent: since 1 May 2025, casinos must let you opt in to marketing by product and by channel, so calendar emails and texts should only reach you if you agreed.
  • Harm indicators: operators must stop marketing and new bonus take-up for customers showing strong signs of harm.
  • Credit cards: can't be used to gamble in Great Britain, including through an e-wallet funded by a credit card (since 14 April 2020).

Advent free spins compared with the real partner offers

Since no partner advent offer is verified, the useful comparison is between a typical calendar structure and the spin offers our partners actually publish. The partner rows below use the offer terms as last checked; the advent row describes the format in general.

Advent calendar spins vs partner free spins offers (18+, terms apply)

PlayOJONew UK customers, 18+, excluding Northern IrelandFirst deposit of £10 or more80 × 10p on Big Bass Bonanza (£8)None; winnings paid in cash

On face value, the Ladbrokes offer resembles an advent calendar most closely: a batch of spins each day, a daily claim deadline, and value spread over a period instead of landing at once. Its total of up to £50 in spins is comparable to the illustrative 24-door calendar above, without a separate qualifying stake each day. Coral's offer runs right through December, which makes it the one standing offer live across the festive season. PlayOJO's is the simplest: one deposit, 80 spins on one named game, and cash winnings. Our PlayOJO free spins page sets out that offer's full terms.

Advantages

  • Advent doors can give existing customers small, regular spins without a new account
  • No-wagering doors pay winnings as cash
  • Each door is small, so a single day's spins rarely tempts heavy play

Drawbacks

  • Value per door is low and disappears if you miss the claim window
  • Qualifying stakes on many days can cost more than the spins return
  • Daily doors encourage logging in every day, which can stretch play beyond a budget
  • Terms vary door by door, so it takes effort to know what you're getting

Keeping December gambling within a budget

December brings extra spending pressure, and a calendar built around daily visits is designed to keep a casino in your routine. Treat the spins as a small extra on play you'd budget for anyway. Gambling is entertainment that costs money, losses are likely over time, and a calendar of spins doesn't change that. Setting a monthly deposit limit before 1 December takes a minute; our guide to setting deposit limits shows where the option sits.

If the doors start to feel like an obligation, or you're depositing to qualify for spins you wouldn't otherwise want, take a break. UK-licensed casinos offer tools such as time-outs and reality checks in the account settings, and GAMSTOP blocks every one of them at once. Over the holidays, GamCare (opens in a new tab) runs the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133, free and open 24 hours a day, including Christmas Day. Our responsible gambling page lists the other support options, including NHS gambling clinics.

Where to find advent free spins and the closest UK alternatives

If a casino you already use publishes an advent calendar, its promotions page is the only reliable place to read the doors' terms. Among our partners, none has a verified advent free spins offer for 2026. The closest match is Ladbrokes' new-customer offer: 18+, deposit and spend £10 on slots to get 50 spins a day for 10 days (up to 500 at 10p each), each batch claimed before 23:59 and valid for 7 days, with no wagering and certain payment methods excluded.

Coral's offer is live through the whole festive season: 18+ new players who deposit and bet £10 on slots get 100 spins at 10p on selected games, accepted within 48 hours and valid for 7 days, with no wagering on spin winnings; Neteller, PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill, prepaid cards and certain debit cards don't qualify. PlayOJO gives 18+ new UK customers (excluding Northern Ireland) 80 spins at 10p on Big Bass Bonanza with a first deposit of £10 or more, with winnings paid in cash. Terms apply to all three, and they are new-customer offers rather than calendars, so compare them with any seasonal deal using the same maths.

Frequently asked questions

What are advent free spins?

An advent free spins offer is a run of spins a casino releases day by day through December, usually behind the numbered doors of an online calendar. Each door is a small promotion with its own number of spins, stake, slot, claim deadline and expiry, and some doors need a deposit or slots stake on the day before the spins are credited. They are usually aimed at existing customers. For how they fit with other recurring deals, see our daily free spins guide.

Do any UK casinos have advent free spins in 2026?

We can't confirm any partner advent offer for 2026: when our partner offers were last checked on 5 October 2026, none of the five casinos had a seasonal calendar published. Casinos often announce December promotions late in the year, so the promotions page of any casino you already use is the place to check. Until then, the standing offers are the reliable option, such as Ladbrokes' 50 spins a day for 10 days after a £10 slots spend (18+, terms apply). Our bonus calendar guide explains how seasonal offers tend to appear through the year.

Are advent free spins really free?

Only if the door asks for nothing but an opt-in. Many advent doors require a deposit or a set stake on slots that day, which means your own money is at risk before the spins arrive. Even no-cost doors can attach wagering to the winnings. Advertising guidance says an offer shouldn't be called free if you must risk your own money to qualify, so the condition should sit right next to the word. The rule page on the word free in gambling ads explains this.

How much are advent free spins worth?

The face value of a door is the number of spins times the stake, so 10 spins at 10p is £1 and 20 spins at 20p is £4. On average, a slot returns its RTP, so £1 of spins at 96% RTP gives back about 96p across a very large number of spins, though any short batch varies widely. Add up the doors you'll realistically claim and subtract the average cost of any qualifying stakes. Our free spins value page shows the same sums for other offers.

Can advent free spins have wagering requirements?

Yes, but since 19 January 2026 any wagering can't exceed 10 times the bonus. If a door's spins win £4 and the winnings carry 10x wagering, you would need to stake £40 before the balance converts to cash, and at a 4% house edge that play costs about £1.60 on average. No-wagering doors pay winnings straight into your cash balance instead. The sums are set out further in our wagering requirements guide.

What happens if I miss a day on an advent calendar?

In most calendars the missed door is lost: each one has its own claim window, often ending at midnight on that day, and later doors don't carry forward unclaimed spins. Some calendars let you open earlier doors late, but only if the terms say so. Spins you have claimed but not used also expire at the end of their validity period. Our explainer on free spins expiry covers both deadlines.

Can a festive calendar mix free bets and casino spins?

Not any more for players in Great Britain. Since 19 January 2026, the Gambling Commission bans promotions that combine more than one type of gambling product, so a single offer can't give free bets and casino spins together or make casino spins depend on a sports bet. This applies to existing customers as well as new ones. A brand can run separate sports and casino promotions, but each must stand alone. How the choice now works at sign-up is covered under sports or casino welcome offers.

Which slots are advent free spins usually on?

Each door names its own game, and it is often a festive edition of a popular slot. Examples include Christmas Big Bass Bonanza (96.71% RTP in its main version, 2,100× max win), Big Bass Christmas Bash (96.71%, 5,000×) and Sweet Bonanza Xmas (96.48%). Lower-RTP versions of some of these exist, so check the game's help screen at your casino. You can't usually move the spins to another slot. More festive games are compared under free spins on Christmas slots.

Can I get advent free spins as a new customer?

Usually not, because advent calendars are mainly aimed at people who already have an account, and some exclude anyone who is still on a welcome offer or joined during December. New customers are normally steered to a welcome offer instead. If you're new, compare the standing spin offers, such as Coral's 100 spins at 10p after a £10 slots bet (18+, terms apply), which runs until 1 February 2027. Read about free spins for existing customers to see what established accounts are offered.

Why didn't my advent free spins appear?

The most common reasons are a missed opt-in, a claim made after the door closed, a qualifying deposit made by an excluded payment method, or a stake placed on a game that didn't count. Spins can also take a short while to credit after a qualifying action. Check the door's terms first, then contact support with a screenshot before the claim deadline passes. The most common cause is explained in how payment exclusions work.

Do I pay tax on winnings from advent free spins?

No. Gambling winnings, including winnings from promotional spins, are not taxed for UK players, and you don't need to declare them. Operators pay gambling duties instead: remote gaming duty rose from 21% to 40% on 1 April 2026, which is a cost to casinos, not to players. That tax position doesn't make the spins more valuable; it simply means the cash you withdraw is yours in full. Our page on whether casino bonuses are taxable explains more.

How do I stop advent calendar emails and texts?

Change your marketing preferences in your casino account or use the unsubscribe link in the message. Since 1 May 2025, casinos must ask you to opt in to marketing separately for each product and channel, so festive calendar emails should only reach you if you agreed. If you are taking a break, a time-out or GAMSTOP self-exclusion stops promotions as well. Step-by-step instructions are in how to stop bonus emails.
