A Christmas casino bonus is a promotion a casino runs over the festive season, usually advent calendar rewards, themed free spins after a qualifying deposit, or prize draws on Christmas slots. None of our partners has a verified Christmas-only offer, but Coral’s welcome spins run from 1 October 2026 to 1 February 2027, covering the whole period. 18+, terms apply.
We haven’t verified a dated Christmas promotion at any partner; Coral’s standard welcome offer simply runs across the festive season.
Festive offers follow the same UK rules as any other: 10x maximum wagering and no mixing casino with sports betting since 19 January 2026.
Christmas slots have ordinary RTPs: 100 spins at 10p are worth £10 and return around £9.40 to £9.70 on average.
December is an expensive month; set a deposit limit before you claim anything.

What counts as a Christmas casino bonus
Casinos tend to dress up their December promotions with snow, sleigh bells and gift boxes, but underneath they are the same mechanics you find all year: deposit matches, spins after a qualifying deposit, prize drops and mystery rewards. What makes them ‘Christmas’ offers is the theme and the dates, not any special set of rules.
The most common festive formats are:
Advent calendars: one ‘door’ a day through December, each revealing a reward such as a handful of spins or entry to a draw. Our advent calendar bonus page covers these in depth.
Christmas slot spins: spins on a seasonal game, usually after a deposit or a set amount of play.
Festive prize drops and tournaments: random prizes or leaderboards on selected games; see prize drops and the tournament bonus page.
Reload offers for existing customers: a match on a December deposit, covered on our reload bonus page.
Honest position: we haven’t verified a dated Christmas promotion at Coral, Ladbrokes, PlayOJO, Casumo or 10bet. Existing-customer offers change often, so check each casino’s promotions page in December.
How a Christmas casino bonus works, step by step
Seasonal offers almost always sit behind an opt-in and a short claim window. The typical sequence looks like this:
The casino publishes the promotion and its full terms, which must stay available for the whole promotion.
You opt in on the promotions page or in your account; UK rules say you can’t be enrolled automatically.
You meet the qualifying condition, for example a deposit or a set amount of slot play.
The reward is credited: spins, bonus funds or a prize entry.
You use the reward within its validity period, often 24 hours to 7 days.
Any wagering (maximum 10x the bonus) must be finished before bonus winnings can be withdrawn.
The opt-in point matters. Commission guidance on the right to vary a promotion (opens in a new tab) says an operator mustn’t change or withdraw a promotion for someone who has opted in, except to prevent fraud or similar unlawful behaviour. So the terms you accept on 1 December are the terms that apply to you. Our page on how to opt in to a bonus shows where the button usually sits.
Christmas casino bonus maths: what festive spins are worth
A seasonal theme doesn’t change a slot’s maths. The value of any spin offer is the number of spins multiplied by the stake per spin, and the average return is that value multiplied by the game’s RTP. Using published figures for well-known Christmas slots:
Two cautions. First, several of these games come in more than one RTP version, so check the figure on the game’s help screen at the casino you use. Second, the average is a long-run figure; 100 spins on a high-volatility game will often return much less than the average and occasionally much more. Our free spins on Christmas slots page goes slot by slot.
A festive deposit match at 10x
Suppose a casino offers existing customers a 50% Christmas match up to £50. Deposit £100, get £50 in bonus funds, and you need £500 of wagering at most. At a 4% house edge that costs about £20 on average, leaving an average value of roughly £30 if you complete it. Over a busy holiday week, though, a 3-day or 7-day deadline can push you to play more than you planned. Try your own numbers in the wagering calculator.
Boxing Day football and casino spins: the mixed-product ban
Christmas used to be peak season for cross-sell promotions such as ‘bet £10 on the Boxing Day football, get 50 casino spins’. Those are no longer allowed. Since 19 January 2026, a single incentive can’t include more than one type of gambling product, so a promotion can’t require a sports bet to earn casino rewards, or the other way round.
The Gambling Commission announced the change in its news release on making gambling promotions safer and simpler (opens in a new tab), alongside the 10x wagering cap. Our mixed-product promotion ban page explains what is covered. In practice, if you see a festive offer that links a football bet to casino spins at a UK-licensed site, treat it as a reason to read the terms closely, and remember you can complain if something looks wrong.
The rule also explains why sign-up pages now ask you to pick either a sports or a casino welcome offer; see sports or casino welcome offer.
Christmas bonus terms to read before you opt in
Holiday promotions are often short and stacked one after another, which makes the small print easier to miss. These are the lines worth reading every time:
Festive terms checklist
Term
What to look for
Why it matters at Christmas
Claim window
The date and time a reward must be claimed by
Daily offers can lapse on busy family days
Validity period
How long spins or bonus funds last
A 24-hour expiry on Christmas Eve is easy to miss
Wagering
Multiple of the bonus, capped at 10x
Determines when winnings become withdrawable
Eligible games
The named or ‘selected’ games
A festive theme doesn’t mean every Christmas slot qualifies
Max bet
Largest stake allowed with a bonus active
Breaking it can void winnings
Payment exclusions
Methods that don’t qualify
E-wallets and prepaid cards are often excluded
Significant terms must appear with the headline offer under LCCP code 5.1.9 (opens in a new tab), and the full terms must be no more than one click away. Our guide to reading a significant terms box shows how to read one quickly, including where the expiry and payment exclusions usually sit.
Advent calendar offers and the January 2026 changes
Advent calendars are the classic Christmas casino bonus. Each day reveals something different, and part of the appeal is not knowing what is behind the next door. That is also why they deserve care: a daily reveal is designed to bring you back every day.
The rules from 19 January 2026 don’t ban advent calendars, and they don’t add a new time-based ban either. What the code does say is that a casino can’t alter or increase a reward because you reached the qualifying spend sooner than the full offer period. A calendar where each door is simply a separate reward with its own terms is easier to judge than one that grows the prizes only if you keep playing every day. Read what each door requires, and whether rewards depend on your play. Our time-based incentive rules page covers the detail, and the mystery bonus page explains how surprise rewards are valued.
Setting a festive budget before you claim
December puts pressure on most budgets, and gambling should come from money left after everything else is paid for. Since 31 October 2025, UK casinos must prompt you to set a financial limit before your first deposit, and a decrease to a limit takes effect straight away. Our guide on setting deposit limits shows where to find the setting.
Decide a fixed amount for the whole season and treat it as spent.
Use reality checks and time-outs if you are playing more than usual over the holidays.
Opt out of marketing by product and channel if festive emails feel like too much; see how to stop bonus emails.
If gambling stops being fun, the National Gambling Helpline is open on Christmas Day: 0808 8020 133, free, 24/7, run by GamCare.
Is a Christmas casino bonus worth it?
A Christmas casino bonus is worth it only on the same terms as any other: if you were going to play anyway, the terms are clear, and the extra play doesn’t push you past your budget. No-wagering spins keep close to their face value; match bonuses lose around the house edge on every pound wagered.
Advantages
Same 10x cap and terms rules apply as the rest of the year
Spin values are easy to work out: spins × stake
Opting in is always your choice
Drawbacks
Short claim windows and daily reveals encourage frequent play
Festive branding can hide ordinary or weak terms
Seasonal games may be offered at lower RTP versions
Christmas casino bonus alternatives from our partners
Because we haven’t verified a Christmas-only offer at any partner, the honest alternative is a standard welcome offer that happens to run over the holidays. Coral comes closest on timing: its offer runs from 1 October 2026 to 1 February 2027. All are 18+ and terms apply.
Coral: new players deposit (certain types excluded) and bet £10+ on slots to get 100 spins at 10p on selected games, £10 of spins in total. Accept within 48 hours, use within 7 days, no wagering on winnings. Deposits by Neteller, PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill or prepaid card, and some debit cards, won’t trigger it.
Ladbrokes: new customers deposit and spend £10+ on slots for 50 spins a day for 10 days (up to 500 at 10p, up to £50), claimed by 23:59 each day and valid 7 days, no wagering. Deposits by prepaid card, PayPal, Paysafe, Neteller, Skrill or Moneybookers won’t count.
PlayOJO: new UK customers (not Northern Ireland) get 80 spins on Big Bass Bonanza at 10p on a first deposit of £10 or more, winnings paid as cash; designated link only, not combinable.
The offers list their own selected games; we can’t say whether any Christmas slot is among them, so check each promotion page. Coral and Ladbrokes share an operator, LC International Limited, so read the terms before opening accounts at both.
We haven’t verified a Christmas-specific promotion at any partner. These standard welcome offers are available over the festive period, with Coral’s running until 1 February 2027. 18+, terms apply.
Coral and Ladbrokes are both run by LC International Limited (Entain). If you already hold an account with one Entain brand, you may not be able to open a new account with another; check the terms before signing up.

Frequently asked questions
Do UK casinos offer Christmas bonuses?
Many UK casinos run festive promotions in December, but the details change every year and are usually for existing customers. Common formats are advent calendars, spins on Christmas slots after a deposit, and festive prize drops. We haven’t verified a Christmas-specific offer at any of our partners, though Coral’s standard welcome spins run until 1 February 2027. See our types of casino bonus hub for how each format works, and check promotions pages in December.
Are Christmas free spins really free?
Not unconditionally: most Christmas spins come after a qualifying deposit or a set amount of play. The spins themselves don’t cost extra once you qualify, but you’ve spent money to get them. UK advertising guidance says an offer shouldn’t be called free if you must risk your own money, so the condition should sit right next to the headline. Our page on ‘free’ in gambling ads explains the rule in plain terms.
What is the wagering on a Christmas casino bonus?
No more than 10 times the bonus amount, the same as any UK offer since 19 January 2026. A £20 festive bonus therefore needs no more than £200 of wagering, which costs about £8 on average at a 4% house edge. Many festive spins carry no wagering at all, so winnings are cash. Always check the multiple, the eligible games and the deadline. Our wagering requirements guide shows how to calculate the cost.
Can I get a Christmas bonus for betting on Boxing Day football?
Not one that also gives casino rewards: offers that combine sports betting and casino play have been banned since 19 January 2026. A bookmaker can run a football promotion and a casino can run a slots promotion, but one incentive can’t require both. If a promotion seems to mix them, read the terms closely. Our mixed-product promotion ban page explains the rule and the products it covers.
How do casino advent calendars work?
A casino advent calendar reveals one reward a day through December, each with its own terms. Rewards are often a few spins, small bonuses or prize entries, and some need a deposit or a set amount of play that day. Since January 2026, wagering on any bonus behind a door is capped at 10x. Our advent free spins page covers the details and works through the maths of a typical calendar.
Which Christmas slots are used for festive free spins?
Casinos choose their own games, but well-known Christmas slots include Christmas Big Bass Bonanza, Big Bass Christmas Bash, Sweet Bonanza Xmas, Sugar Rush Xmas and Reindeer Royale. Their published RTPs range from 94% to 96.71%, so 100 spins at 10p return roughly £9.40 to £9.67 on average. Check the game’s help screen for the version in use. Our free spins on Christmas slots page compares them.
Do Christmas bonuses expire quickly?
Often yes: festive rewards commonly expire within 24 hours to 7 days, and daily calendar rewards may need claiming the same day. Coral’s welcome spins, for example, must be accepted within 48 hours and used within 7 days. If spins or bonus funds lapse, you lose them along with any unfinished wagering. Our bonus expiry guide lists the typical windows and how to find the deadline in your account.
Can existing customers get a Christmas casino bonus?
Yes, most festive promotions are aimed at existing customers rather than new sign-ups, but only if you’ve opted in to marketing or check the promotions page. Rules from 1 May 2025 let you choose marketing by product and channel. Casinos must also stop offering bonuses to customers showing strong signs of harm. Our free spins for existing customers page explains what returning players usually get.
Is a Christmas casino bonus a good gift idea?
No: gambling offers can’t be gifted, and accounts must be used only by the verified holder. Funding someone else’s account or letting them use yours breaks the terms and can lead to winnings being withheld. Online gambling in Great Britain is for adults aged 18 and over with verified identity. If you want to understand why sharing breaks terms, see our multi-accounting glossary entry.
Where can I get help if gambling gets out of hand over Christmas?
The National Gambling Helpline runs every day of the year, including Christmas Day, on 0808 8020 133; it is free and run by GamCare. You can also block yourself from all GB-licensed online casinos through GAMSTOP, set limits or a time-out at each casino, and ask your bank for a gambling block.
