Casino missions are promotions that set you a task, such as 200 spins on a named slot or £100 of slots play in a week, and pay a reward when you finish it. The reward is usually small, and the task itself costs money on average, so a mission is only worth doing if it rewards play you'd have made anyway.
A casino mission is a task (spins, turnover, games or days) plus a reward for finishing it.
Count the average cost of the required play: the stake total × the house edge.
Bonus-fund rewards carry no more than 10x wagering, and since 19 January 2026 a mission can't mix sport and casino.
None of our partners' welcome offers is a mission; Coral and Ladbrokes' bet-£10 offers are the simplest one-step version. 18+, terms apply.

What casino missions are
A mission turns a promotion into a to-do list. The casino shows a task, a progress bar and a reward; you play, the bar fills, and the reward lands when you reach the target. Some casinos chain missions into a series, so finishing one opens the next, and some tie them to a level or avatar that grows as you play.
Missions sit among the existing-customer entries in our guide to casino bonus types. They are close cousins of bet and get bonuses, which reward one qualifying bet, and of casino challenges, which usually ask for a game result rather than an amount of play. For the screens and progress tracking in detail, see how missions work.
The four parts of every casino mission
However it's dressed up, a mission has four parts. Reading each one separately is the quickest way to see what you're being asked to do.
The task: what counts. Spins on a named game, total stakes on slots, playing a set of different games, or logging in and playing on consecutive days.
The target: how much. A number of spins, a pound figure of turnover, or a number of days. Often with a minimum stake per spin.
The window: how long. A day, a weekend, a week. Unfinished progress usually resets when the window closes.
The reward: what you get. Spins at a stated value, bonus funds with wagering, loyalty points, or entry into a prize draw.

Casino missions at our partner casinos
None of our five partners uses a mission as its welcome offer. Some have reward systems for existing customers that work along similar lines. The App Store listing for Casumo's app describes 'The Adventure', a trophy collection and a levelling avatar, which our guide to how Casumo rewards work explains. PlayOJO's help pages describe OJO Levels that only go up (not every level gives a reward) and daily perks called Kickers.
Open the mission's terms and note the task, target, minimum stake, eligible games and deadline.
Work out the total you'd stake to finish it, and decide whether that fits the budget you'd already set.
Opt in or activate the mission if asked; play before activation usually doesn't count.
Play only the named games at the qualifying stake, and check the progress bar updates.
Collect the reward if it needs claiming, and note its own expiry and any wagering.
Stop when the mission ends. The next mission in a chain is a new decision, not a continuation.
Are casino missions worth it? A cost-and-reward ledger
The test is simple: compare the average cost of the play the mission requires with the average value of the reward. Average cost is the total you must stake multiplied by the house edge; we use 4%, which suits a slot with a 96% RTP. Spins are valued at stake × 96%, and bonus funds at face value minus the average cost of their wagering.

Two of the four reward less than the average cost of the play they demand. The other two give back slightly more than that average cost, but only if you'd have made exactly that play anyway, and the average hides a wide spread: £20 of spins can lose all £20 or return much more in any one session. The streak mission also asks for seven separate days of gambling, which has a cost of its own. A mission doesn't make gambling profitable; at best it trims the cost of play you'd already chosen.
Time: a 200-spin mission takes at least 500 seconds of spinning, because UK slots must take at least 2.5 seconds per spin, and much longer in practice.
Game choice: named games may run a lower RTP version than you'd pick yourself; check each game's help screen.
Contribution: turnover missions may count some games at less than 100%, like game weighting in wagering.
Resets: missing a day on a streak, or the window closing at 90% progress, normally means starting again.
Reward strings: a bonus reward has its own wagering, maximum bet and expiry, adding a second layer of play.
Note that the 10x cap governs wagering on bonus funds once you have them. A mission's target is the play needed to earn a reward in the first place, so treat it as a cost in its own right and do the sums.
UK rules that shape casino missions
Missions are incentives, so the Gambling Commission's social responsibility code on rewards and bonuses (opens in a new tab) applies. Three points matter most, two of them in force since 19 January 2026: incentive terms must be clear and fair, bonus wagering is capped at 10 times (our 10x wagering cap page explains it), and an incentive must not include more than one type of gambling product. A mission that asked you to place a sports bet and spin slots to earn one reward would break the mixed-product ban.
Commission guidance on the right to vary a promotion (opens in a new tab) says a promotion shouldn't be changed or withdrawn for someone who has opted in, except to prevent fraud or similar unlawful behaviour. So if the target rises halfway through, ask why and keep screenshots. Since 1 May 2025, mission alerts by email or text also need your marketing consent for that product and channel.
Casino missions vs other existing-customer rewards
Progress bars are persuasive. Being at 180 of 200 spins makes stopping feel like a waste, and streak missions turn gambling into a daily routine. Those are exactly the pulls to resist. Gambling is entertainment that costs money, and losses are the likely result over time.
Decide your budget before looking at missions, and don't let a mission set it for you.
Use reality checks and session time limits in your account settings.
Leave a mission unfinished if you hit your limit; the reward isn't worth breaking it.

Frequently asked questions
What are casino missions?
Casino missions are promotions that give you a task and a reward for finishing it. Typical tasks are a number of spins on a named slot, a total amount staked in a week, playing several named games, or playing on consecutive days. Rewards are usually spins, small bonus funds or loyalty points. They're mostly for existing customers and run in a set time window. Our guide on how missions work shows how progress is tracked.
How do I know if a casino mission is worth doing?
Compare the average cost of the play it requires with the average value of the reward. Multiply the total you'd stake by the house edge (about 4% on a 96% RTP slot) to get the cost, then value spins at stake × RTP and bonus funds net of wagering. A £200 turnover mission costs about £8 on average; a £5 bonus at 10x is worth about £3. Only consider missions that fit play you'd make anyway. Our wagering calculator helps with the bonus side.
Do casino mission rewards have wagering requirements?
Spin rewards often pay winnings as cash with no wagering, but bonus-fund rewards usually carry wagering. Since 19 January 2026, that wagering can't exceed 10 times the bonus. A £5 mission bonus at 10x means £50 of extra play, costing about £2 on average at a 4% house edge. Remember this sits on top of the play the mission itself required. See does the 10x cap apply to free spins? for how the cap treats spins.
Can a casino change a mission after I've started it?
It shouldn't, once you've opted in. Gambling Commission guidance says operators must not vary or withdraw a promotion for a customer who has opted in, except where needed to prevent fraud or similar unlawful behaviour. If a target rises or a reward shrinks mid-mission, take screenshots and raise a complaint with the casino. If that fails, you can go to an independent dispute service. Our page can bonus terms change after I opt in? has more.
Do missions count spins on any slot?
Rarely. Most missions name the games that count, and spins on other games, even similar ones, won't move the progress bar. Some turnover missions count all slots but exclude table games or live casino, or count them at a reduced rate. Check the game list and minimum stake before you start, and check the RTP in each game's help screen. Our page which games are excluded from bonuses? covers common exclusions.
What happens if I don't finish a casino mission in time?
Usually your progress is lost and no reward is paid. Most missions reset when the window closes, even if you were close to the target, and streak missions reset if you miss a day. The money you staked along the way is gone or kept according to how those spins went; nothing is refunded. That's why the decision to start should rest on play you'd do anyway. See our guide to bonus expiry for how time limits work.
Can a casino mission include a sports bet?
Not as part of one incentive with casino play. Since 19 January 2026, the Gambling Commission's rules say an incentive must not include more than one type of gambling product, such as betting, casino, bingo or lottery. A mission asking for a football bet and slot spins to earn one reward would break the rule. A brand can run separate sports and casino promotions. See the mixed-product promotion ban for the detail.
Are casino missions the same as loyalty levels?
Not quite. A mission is a specific task with a target, deadline and reward. Loyalty levels build up from your overall play over time, and moving up may or may not bring a reward; PlayOJO's help pages say not every level gives one, for example. Some casinos blend the two, using missions to move you through levels. Both are funded by play, so neither changes the long-run cost of gambling. Our loyalty bonus page explains points and tiers.
Why do casinos use missions?
To encourage regular play and to steer customers towards particular games. A progress bar and a reward make it more likely you'll return, play longer or try a game the casino wants to promote. That's not hidden, but it's worth keeping in mind: the mission is designed around the casino's goals, not yours. Our page why do casinos give bonuses? looks at the business side of promotions.
Should I avoid missions if I'm worried about my gambling?
Yes. Missions and streaks are designed to keep you playing, and that's the opposite of what helps when gambling is a worry. You can opt out of bonuses and marketing, set deposit and time limits, take a time-out, or self-exclude through GAMSTOP. Casinos must also stop new bonuses for customers showing strong signs of harm. Free support is available 24/7 on 0808 8020 133. Our guide on how to opt out of casino bonuses has the steps.
