£1 deposit bonus

A £1 deposit bonus is an offer that gives spins or bonus money for a one-pound deposit, and none of our five partner casinos has one. Their lowest published deposit is £5 with certain methods at Coral and Ladbrokes, and every partner welcome offer needs at least £10. Here is how £1 offers work, what they are worth and the closest real options.

Key takeaways

  • None of our partners accepts £1 for a welcome offer; the lowest qualifying amount is £10.
  • Coral and Ladbrokes publish a £5 minimum for Google Pay and Pay by Bank; Casumo’s minimum is £10 for all methods.
  • A typical £1 offer elsewhere, such as 20 spins at 10p, averages about £1.92 back before any wagering or win cap.
  • UK rules still apply in full: identity checks before you deposit, a financial limit prompt and the 10x wagering cap.
  • Be wary of £1 offers from sites you can’t find on the Gambling Commission’s public register.

£1 deposit bonus UK: the plain answer

A £1 deposit bonus is a welcome or reload offer you can trigger with a single pound, usually a handful of free spins or a small amount of bonus money. Such offers have become rare at UK-licensed casinos, and none of our five partners runs one. You can’t claim any of their welcome offers with £1, and at some of them you can’t deposit £1 at all.

That doesn’t make the topic pointless. Knowing how small-deposit offers work helps you judge any you see, and the lowest real entry points among our partners are still modest. Our casino bonuses hub covers every type of offer; this page focuses on the smallest deposits.

Partner minimum deposits against a £1 deposit bonus

Two separate minimums matter: the smallest deposit the cashier accepts, and the smallest deposit or stake that qualifies for the welcome offer. The table sets both out from our checked partner data.

Partner minimum deposits and offer minimums
CasinoPublished minimum depositWelcome offer minimumWorks with £1?
Coral£5 for Google Pay and Pay by Bank; other methods shown in the cashierDeposit and bet £10 on slotsNo
Ladbrokes£5 for Google Pay and Pay by Bank; other methods shown in the cashierDeposit and spend £10 on slotsNo
PlayOJONot published; check the cashierFirst deposit of £10No
Casumo£10 for all payment methodsFirst deposit of £20No
10betNot published; check the cashierFirst deposit within 7 days of sign-up (check the terms for the minimum)Not that we can confirm

So the honest answer is that £10 is the lowest qualifying amount we can confirm across our partners, and Casumo needs £20. Each partner page has the detail: Coral’s minimum deposit, Ladbrokes’ minimum deposit, PlayOJO’s minimum deposit, Casumo’s minimum deposit and 10bet’s minimum deposit.

Coral’s and Ladbrokes’ help centres publish the £5 figure only for Google Pay and Pay by Bank. Their welcome offers also exclude several payment types, so check that the method you use qualifies before depositing.

How a £1 deposit bonus works elsewhere

Where £1 offers exist, they tend to take one of two shapes: a small batch of spins (“deposit £1, get 20 spins”) or a small cash-style bonus (“deposit £1, play with £5”). The mechanics follow any other deposit offer.

  1. Register and pass identity verification, which UK-licensed casinos must complete before you deposit or play.
  2. Respond to the prompt to set a financial limit before your first deposit.
  3. Opt in to the offer if required and choose a payment method the terms accept.
  4. Deposit £1 (or whatever the qualifying deposit is).
  5. Receive the spins or bonus funds and use them on the listed games before the expiry date.
  6. Meet any wagering on winnings, within the cap of 10 times the bonus, and check any maximum win or cashout limit before withdrawing.

Our page on deposit £1, get free spins looks at the spins version specifically, and the minimum deposit glossary entry explains the term.

What a £1 deposit bonus is really worth

Small offers are easy to value, because the numbers are small. The table uses typical shapes for £1 offers, a 96% RTP and a 4% house edge.

Illustrative £1 deposit offers and their average value
Illustrative offerSpin or bonus valueAverage return before wageringWith 10x wagering on winnings or bonus
£1 for 10 spins at 10p£1about 96pabout 58p left on average
£1 for 20 spins at 10p£2about £1.92about £1.15 left on average
£1 for £4 bonus (play with £5)£4Not applicable£40 of wagering, costing about £1.60; about £2.40 left on average

These figures are averages across many players. A single £1 offer will often return nothing, and £1 offers commonly carry a maximum win or cashout limit that cuts off rare large results. The point of the table is scale: even a generous-looking £1 offer is worth a pound or two on average, so it is no reason to choose a casino you wouldn’t otherwise trust.

Why £1 deposit bonuses are rare in the UK

Several features of the British market make one-pound offers less common than they once were.

  • Processing costs. Card and bank payments carry fixed costs per transaction, so very small deposits cost the casino a larger share.
  • Verification first. Since May 2019, age and identity must be checked before you can deposit or gamble, so each new account involves the same onboarding cost whatever the deposit. The Commission’s guide to age, ID and financial verification (opens in a new tab) explains the checks.
  • Payment method minimums. Some methods simply don’t go as low as £1. paysafecard’s UK vouchers (opens in a new tab) start at £10, for example.
  • Tighter promotion rules. The 10x wagering cap and clearer terms make it harder to attach heavy conditions to small offers.

There is also a safer-gambling point. Since 31 October 2025, operators must prompt you to set a financial limit before your first deposit, as the Commission’s news on deposit limit rules (opens in a new tab) explains. That applies whether you deposit £1 or £100. The financial limit prompt page has the detail.

Which payment methods take small deposits

At Coral and Ladbrokes, the help centres publish a £5 minimum for two methods, which is the lowest confirmed figure among our partners.

Our pages on Google Pay casino bonuses and Pay by Bank casino bonuses explain how each method works with offers, and Coral’s help centre lists the Google Pay minimum and limits (opens in a new tab).

£1 deposit bonus offers from unlicensed sites

Very low deposit offers are sometimes used to attract players to sites that don’t hold a Gambling Commission licence. Those sites can’t legally take bets from people in Great Britain, and if something goes wrong you have none of the protections described on this page: no independent dispute resolution, no GAMSTOP, no 10x wagering cap and no duty to let you withdraw your own deposit.

Before depositing anywhere, find the licence number in the site footer and check it on the Commission’s public register (opens in a new tab). Our guide on telling a licensed casino from an unlicensed one shows what to look for, and offshore casino bonus risks explains why a tempting offer from an unlicensed site is a bad trade.

The closest alternatives to a £1 deposit bonus

If your aim is to try a casino for as little as possible, these are the lowest entry points we can confirm among our partners. All are for new customers aged 18+, and terms apply.

Lowest-entry partner welcome offers
OfferMoney neededWhat you getAverage value at 96% RTP
PlayOJO£10 first deposit80 spins at 10p on Big Bass Bonanza, no wageringabout £7.74 (at its 96.71% RTP)

Casumo£20 first deposit£10 bonus (50% match), 10x wageringWagering £100 costs about £4 on average

Our £5 deposit bonus and £10 deposit bonus pages go through these in more depth, and the comparison of the best bonus for £10 weighs them up.

Playing on a small budget without overspending

Small deposits can feel harmless, but several £1 or £5 top-ups in an evening add up quickly. Decide your total for the week or month, set it as a deposit limit, and stop when it is gone. Reality checks and time-outs help if sessions run longer than planned. If you notice you are depositing more often than you meant to, the National Gambling Helpline (0808 8020 133) is free and open 24 hours a day, and our safer gambling page lists further support.

Partner offers instead of a £1 deposit bonus

We can’t offer you a £1 deposit bonus, because none of our partners has one. The three offers below are the lowest-entry options we can show, each needing £10. All are for new customers aged 18+, and full terms apply.

  • PlayOJO: first deposit of £10 or more for 80 spins at 10p on Big Bass Bonanza (£8 of spins). No wagering; winnings paid in cash. New UK customers excluding Northern Ireland; can’t be combined with other offers; designated offer link only.
  • Coral: deposit (Neteller, PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill, prepaid cards and certain debit cards don’t qualify) and bet £10 or more on slots for 100 spins at 10p on selected games. Accept within 48 hours, use within 7 days, no wagering on winnings. Runs 1 October 2026 to 1 February 2027.
  • Ladbrokes: deposit and spend £10 or more on slots for 50 spins a day for 10 days (up to 500 at 10p). Claim each day before 23:59; spins valid 7 days; no wagering. Prepaid cards, PayPal, Paysafe, Neteller, Skrill and Moneybookers deposits don’t qualify.

Coral and Ladbrokes are both run by LC International Limited, so check the terms before opening new accounts at both.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a £1 deposit bonus in the UK?

A few UK-licensed casinos have run £1 offers, but they are rare, and none of our five partners has one. Coral and Ladbrokes publish a £5 minimum deposit for Google Pay and Pay by Bank, and Casumo’s minimum is £10 for all methods. Every partner welcome offer needs at least £10. If you see a £1 offer, check the licence on the Gambling Commission’s register and read the significant terms. The deposit £1, get free spins page explains the format.

What is the lowest deposit for a casino bonus at your partners?

£10 is the lowest qualifying amount we can confirm. PlayOJO’s 80 no-wagering spins need a first deposit of £10, while Coral and Ladbrokes ask you to deposit and stake £10 on slots to get their spins. Casumo’s 50% bonus needs at least £20, and 10bet’s offer needs a first deposit within seven days, with the minimum set in its terms. All are 18+, terms apply. Our answer to what is the minimum deposit for a bonus? compares them.

Can I deposit £1 at Coral or Ladbrokes?

Not with the methods where they publish a minimum. Both help centres list £5 as the minimum for Google Pay and Pay by Bank, and say the minimum for other methods is shown in the cashier. Even a £5 deposit wouldn’t qualify for the welcome spins on its own, since each offer needs £10 of slots play. Both also exclude several payment types from their offers. Our page on Coral’s minimum deposit sets out the detail, and Ladbrokes’ rules match.

What is a £1 deposit bonus worth?

Usually a pound or two on average. Twenty spins at 10p are £2 of spins and return about £1.92 at 96% RTP; with 10x wagering on winnings, roughly £1.15 would be left on average. A “deposit £1, play with £5” offer gives £4 of bonus, and 10x wagering on that costs about £1.60 at a 4% house edge. Small offers often add cashout caps that limit rare big wins. Our free spins value page explains the method in more detail.

Are £1 deposit casinos safe?

A casino is only as safe as its licence, whatever its minimum deposit. UK-licensed sites must verify your identity before you deposit, prompt you to set a financial limit, offer dispute resolution and join GAMSTOP. Some sites offering £1 deposits don’t hold a Gambling Commission licence, and with them you lose those protections. Check the licence number on the Commission’s public register before depositing. Our guide on telling a licensed casino from an unlicensed one shows how.

Is a no deposit bonus better than a £1 deposit bonus?

In theory, yes, because you risk nothing to claim it, but no-deposit offers are now rare at UK-licensed casinos and none of our partners has one. Where they exist, they usually come with small values, wagering and tight cashout caps. A £1 offer and a no-deposit offer are worth similar small amounts on average. Neither is a reason to pick a casino on its own. Our answer to do no deposit bonuses still exist? explains what happened to them.

Can I use paysafecard for a £1 deposit?

No. paysafecard’s UK vouchers come in £10, £25, £40, £50, £75 and £100 values, so the smallest voucher is £10. You could hold a larger balance in a paysafecard account, but each casino sets its own minimum. Paysafe and prepaid card deposits are also excluded from Coral’s and Ladbrokes’ welcome offers. Our paysafecard casino bonus page sets out which partner offers accept it and which don’t.

Do £1 deposit bonuses have wagering?

Many do, on the spin winnings or on the bonus amount, though some are wager-free. Since 19 January 2026, wagering on bonus funds at UK-licensed casinos can’t exceed 10 times the bonus, so a £4 bonus needs at most £40 of play. Check for a maximum cashout too, because small offers often cap what you can withdraw from them. Our 10x wagering cap page explains the rule and how it applies to small offers.

Why do casinos not offer £1 deposit bonuses?

Mainly cost. Every new account needs identity checks before the first deposit, and every payment carries processing fees, so a £1 deposit is expensive for the casino to handle. Some payment methods also have higher minimums, such as paysafecard’s £10 smallest voucher. Tighter UK promotion rules since 2026 make heavily conditioned small offers less attractive to run. Our answer to why do casinos require a deposit for free spins? covers the wider reasons.

What is the cheapest way to try a partner casino?

With a £10 deposit, which is the lowest qualifying amount for any partner welcome offer we can confirm. PlayOJO gives 80 no-wagering spins at 10p for a £10 first deposit; Coral and Ladbrokes give no-wagering spins after a £10 slots stake. You don’t have to take any bonus: you can play with your own money at whatever minimum the cashier accepts. All are 18+, terms apply. Our £10 deposit bonus page compares the options.
