£40 deposit bonus

A £40 deposit bonus isn’t sold under that name by any casino we cover, but a £40 first deposit qualifies at every partner. Casumo adds £20 at its 50% rate, 10bet adds £25 (its cap), and the spins offers need only £10. A £40 bonus is possible at Casumo with an £80 deposit. This guide works out what each is worth after wagering. 18+, terms apply.

Key takeaways

  • No partner advertises a £40 deposit bonus: £40 earns £20 at Casumo and £25 (the cap) at 10bet.
  • A £40 bonus needs an £80 first deposit at Casumo, with £400 of wagering inside 7 days.
  • Wagering £200 to £250 costs roughly £8 to £10 on average at 96% RTP, more on lower-RTP games.
  • Paying by paysafecard or an e-wallet can stop a £40 deposit qualifying, so check exclusions first.

£40 deposit bonus at UK casinos: the honest answer

None of the five casinos we cover runs an offer called a £40 deposit bonus. What £40 does is clear every welcome threshold we track, from the £10 spins offers to Casumo’s £20 minimum. The bonus you get then depends on the offer’s percentage and cap, and those vary a lot.

£40 is also the point at which the two match offers swap places in an interesting way. Casumo’s 50% rate gives £20, while 10bet’s 100% rate has already hit its £25 cap, so the gap between them is just £5 of bonus, with very different time limits. For every other amount and type, see our casino bonuses hub.

Partner terms quoted here were checked on 5 October 2026. All offers are for adults aged 18 and over, and the full terms on each promotion page take priority.

For the spins offers, everything above the £10 threshold is simply your own balance. For the match offers, the size of the bonus is what changes. If you’re weighing them, Casumo vs 10bet bonus compares the two in full.

Want a £40 bonus? Casumo needs an £80 deposit

Read the other way, a £40 deposit bonus might mean £40 of bonus money. 10bet can’t provide that, as its match stops at £25. Casumo can, because its 50% rate runs up to £100: an £80 first deposit brings £40 of bonus and a £120 balance.

The wagering on that £40 bonus is £400 within 7 days, about £57 of qualifying stakes a day, at no more than £5 a bet. At 96% RTP the average cost is about £16; at 94% about £24. An £80 deposit is twice what this page started with, so it only makes sense if it’s money you had already set aside for entertainment. The £50 deposit bonus and £100 deposit bonus pages cover larger sizes.

£40 deposit bonus wagering costs at different RTPs

The average cost of wagering equals the stakes multiplied by the house edge, and the house edge is 100% minus the game’s RTP. Slots vary, so the same bonus can cost noticeably more on a lower-RTP game. The table shows long-run averages only.

Average cost of wagering by RTP (long-run averages)
WageringFromAt 97% RTPAt 96% RTPAt 94% RTP

£25010bet £25 bonus on a £40 deposit£7.50£10£15
£400Casumo £40 bonus on an £80 deposit£12£16£24

Picking higher-RTP games doesn’t turn a bonus into a profit, and it doesn’t protect you from a losing session. It only changes the long-run average. Some casinos also run games at different RTP settings, so check the figure in the game’s help screen. Since 19 January 2026 the 10x wagering cap has kept these numbers far lower than the 35x or 50x terms common before. For game choice and contribution rules, see game weighting.

Bet sizes on a £40 bonus: £5 caps and stake limits

Casumo caps each bet at £5 while a bonus is active. UK law adds its own ceilings on online slots: £5 a spin for players aged 25 and over since 9 April 2025, and £2 a spin for 18 to 24-year-olds since 21 May 2025. The Gambling Commission’s stake limit guidance (opens in a new tab) sets out how the age-based limits work.

In practice, wagering £200 at Casumo takes at least 40 spins at £5, or at least 100 spins at £2 for a younger player. Smaller stakes mean many more spins. There is no requirement to play at the maximum, and staking above an offer’s limit can void the bonus and its winnings. See casino bonus max bet and Casumo bonus max bet.

Paysafecard, e-wallets and a £40 deposit

£40 is one of the standard paysafecard voucher values (opens in a new tab) in the UK (alongside £10, £25, £50, £75 and £100), which makes it a common deposit size. But prepaid and e-wallet payments are where welcome offers most often say no. Coral and Ladbrokes exclude Paysafe and prepaid cards from their spins offers. 10bet’s published exclusions are Skrill and Neteller. Casumo accepts paysafecard deposits and says payment restrictions apply to its offer, so check whether paysafecard qualifies before you use a voucher.

A debit card is usually the safest route to qualifying, though Coral excludes certain debit cards. Credit cards are banned for gambling in Great Britain, including through e-wallets funded by one. Our paysafecard casino bonus page and how payment exclusions work explain the reasons behind these lists.

Withdrawing after a £40 deposit bonus

You can withdraw your own deposit balance at any time, even with a bonus running; doing so normally ends the bonus. Bonus money becomes withdrawable once wagering is complete. After that, payout speed depends on the casino and the method.

Casumo’s figures come from its homepage and withdrawal policy (opens in a new tab); 10bet’s from its help centre. Verification can add time if documents are requested. Read how long withdrawals take after a bonus for the wider picture.

£40 deposits, limits and financial checks

Since 31 October 2025, casinos must prompt you to set a financial limit before your first deposit, with setting one as the default. A limit set at £40 a month would cover one deposit of this size and nothing more until the period resets.

Separately, since 28 February 2025 the Gambling Commission’s financial vulnerability check (opens in a new tab) applies when a customer’s deposits minus withdrawals pass £150 in a rolling 30 days. It uses public records such as bankruptcies and county court judgments. Four £40 deposits in a month would cross that line. So-called affordability checks using credit-reference data are not live. Our how affordability checks affect bonuses guide explains the difference.

Claiming a £40 deposit bonus: the order of steps

  2. Register with your own details and pass age and identity verification.
  3. Set your deposit limit at the prompt before the first deposit.
  4. Opt in at Casumo, or select the casino welcome bonus at 10bet sign-up.
  5. Deposit £40 by a method the offer accepts (at 10bet, within 7 days of registering).
  6. Confirm the bonus and wagering target show in your account before playing.
  7. Keep to the max bet and eligible games, and track progress until wagering is done or you decide to stop.

Is a £40 deposit bonus worth it for you?

Advantages

  • £40 qualifies for every partner offer we cover.
  • Casumo’s £20 bonus comes with a full week to wager.
  • 10bet gives the most bonus on £40 (£25), though not on the last £15.
  • The 10x cap keeps average wagering costs to around £8 to £10 at 96% RTP.

Drawbacks

  • 10bet’s effective match on £40 is only 62.5%.
  • £250 of wagering in 3 days at 10bet is a lot of play in a short time.
  • Prepaid and e-wallet deposits may not qualify.
  • No bonus changes the house edge on your own £40.

If you like a defined week of play and a smaller bonus, Casumo fits £40 well. If you want the largest bonus now and can keep the session within your limits, 10bet gives a little more. If wagering doesn’t appeal, PlayOJO’s spins are simpler. Our is a casino bonus worth it guide covers the reasoning in full.

Where to use a £40 deposit bonus

Casumo fits a £40 deposit most naturally, as the full amount is matched: 18+, new customers, opt in, 50% bonus up to £100 on a first deposit of at least £20, so £40 brings £20 and £80 brings £40; wager the bonus 10x within 7 days; £5 maximum bet with a bonus active; game, play and payment restrictions apply. 10bet gives a larger bonus on £40 but matches only the first £25: 18+, new UK customers, choose the casino welcome bonus at sign-up, first deposit within 7 days, 100% up to £25, 10x wagering on slots within 3 days, £1,000 maximum bonus winnings, no Skrill or Neteller deposits.

PlayOJO is the no-wagering option: 18+, new UK customers excluding Northern Ireland, £10 minimum first deposit, 80 free spins on Big Bass Bonanza at 10p (£8 of spins), winnings paid as cash, not combinable with other offers. Whichever you choose, gambling costs money over time and losses are the likelier outcome. 18+, terms apply. If gambling stops being fun, our safer gambling page lists free support, including the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133.

Frequently asked questions

Which casino gives the biggest bonus on a £40 deposit?

Among our partners, 10bet gives the most: £25, because its 100% match is capped at £25. Casumo gives £20 on £40 at its 50% rate. The difference is small, while the time limits differ a lot: 3 days to wager at 10bet against 7 at Casumo. Spins offers give fixed batches regardless of the deposit. All are 18+. Our bonus with the highest value comparison ranks the offers on several measures.

How do I get a £40 bonus?

At Casumo, deposit £80. Its 50% match up to £100 turns an £80 first deposit into a £40 bonus, after you opt in. You then need to wager £400 within 7 days at no more than £5 a bet, with game, play and payment restrictions applying. 10bet can’t give £40 because its match stops at £25. Only deposit £80 if it’s within your budget. See Casumo bonus funds explained for how the balance works.

What is the wagering on a £40 deposit bonus?

It depends on the bonus, not the deposit. A £40 deposit earns £20 at Casumo, with £200 of wagering in 7 days, or £25 at 10bet, with £250 on slots in 3 days. UK rules cap bonus wagering at 10 times the bonus since 19 January 2026, and both offers sit at that cap. At 96% RTP, the average costs are about £8 and £10. Our what is a good wagering requirement answer puts these in context.

Can I use a £40 paysafecard voucher for a casino bonus?

Sometimes, but check first. Coral and Ladbrokes exclude Paysafe and prepaid cards from their welcome offers. 10bet’s published welcome-offer exclusions are Skrill and Neteller, and Casumo accepts paysafecard deposits but says payment restrictions apply to its bonus, so read its list before using a voucher. A debit card is the method least often excluded. Our answer on whether paysafecard is excluded from bonuses has more detail.

Is it better to deposit £25 or £40 at 10bet?

For the bonus, £25 is the more efficient size, because 10bet’s 100% match stops at £25. A £40 deposit gets the same £25 bonus plus £15 of unmatched cash, so the effective match falls to 62.5%. The wagering is the same £250 either way. Deposit what fits your budget rather than chasing a percentage. The £25 deposit bonus page works through 10bet’s offer at its cap.

How long does a withdrawal take after a £40 deposit bonus?

At Casumo, withdrawals are approved or denied within 3 days under its policy, often within hours, then take up to 2 days to a card, up to 5 days by bank, or arrive straight after approval to PayPal, Skrill, Neteller or MuchBetter. 10bet’s help centre says up to 2 business days for cards and e-wallets and up to 3 for bank transfers. Verification can add time. See Casumo withdrawal time.

Will a £40 deposit trigger a financial check?

Not on its own. The financial vulnerability check applies when deposits minus withdrawals pass £150 in a rolling 30 days, a threshold in force since 28 February 2025. It uses public records rather than your credit file. Four £40 deposits within 30 days would cross it. Credit-reference affordability checks are not live. If a check finds signs of financial difficulty, the operator may restrict bonuses. See what a source of funds check is for a related check.

Can I use a £40 deposit bonus on live casino games?

10bet’s wagering must be done on slots, so live games won’t count. Casumo’s offer has game restrictions, and live casino games are commonly excluded or count at a reduced rate, so read its terms before playing them with a bonus active. Playing an excluded game can void the bonus and its winnings. Our answer on whether live casino counts towards wagering explains how contribution rates usually work.

Does a £40 deposit bonus need a code?

No. None of our five partners uses a promo code for its welcome offer. Casumo asks you to opt in, 10bet asks you to choose the casino welcome bonus at sign-up, and PlayOJO’s spins are claimed through the designated offer link. Coral and Ladbrokes credit spins after the qualifying slots bet or spend. A site showing a code for these offers is showing something you don’t need. See Casumo promo code for an example.
