A baccarat bonus is any casino offer whose bonus funds you can play on baccarat, but in the UK most welcome bonuses either exclude baccarat or count only a small slice of each hand towards wagering. This guide shows how that weighting works, what the banker-bet maths does to a bonus, and why none of our partner offers is built for baccarat.
None of our five partners runs a dedicated baccarat bonus; their welcome offers are built around slots.
Baccarat is often weighted at a low percentage or excluded, so a £50 bonus at 10x can need thousands of pounds of hands.
The banker bet carries a 1.06% house edge, but low weighting can make clearing a bonus cost more than the bonus itself.
Since 19 January 2026, UK wagering is capped at 10x the bonus; terms apply and you must be 18+.

Baccarat bonus: the short answer for UK players
You can sometimes use bonus funds on baccarat, but a baccarat bonus rarely does what the headline suggests. Most UK welcome offers are designed for slots, and their terms either list baccarat as an excluded game or let only part of each stake count towards the wagering requirements. That cut is called game weighting, or contribution percentage, and it is the single biggest thing that decides whether a bonus is any use at the baccarat table.
We should be plain about our own partners too. Coral, Ladbrokes, PlayOJO, Casumo and 10bet do not publish a baccarat-specific welcome offer. Coral and Ladbrokes ask for a £10 qualifying stake on slots, PlayOJO’s 80 spins are played on Big Bass Bonanza, and 10bet’s match bonus is wagered on slots. Casumo’s bonus carries game restrictions, so its terms are the place to check which table games count, if any. You’ll find more on every game type in our casino bonuses by game hub.
Bonuses don’t change the odds of a baccarat hand. The house edge applies to every bet, whether it is placed with your own money or with bonus funds.
How a baccarat bonus works, step by step
Where an operator does let bonus funds reach the baccarat table, the process usually follows the same order. Reading it in sequence helps you spot where the value leaks out.
Find the offer’s game list and check whether baccarat (live or RNG) appears as eligible, restricted or excluded.
Check the contribution percentage for baccarat; if it isn’t stated, ask support before you opt in.
Opt in and make the qualifying deposit with a payment method the terms accept.
Note the bonus amount, the wagering multiple (no more than 10x since 19 January 2026), the expiry and any maximum bet.
Play: each baccarat stake counts towards wagering only at the stated percentage.
Track wagering progress in your account and stop if the remaining amount no longer makes sense for your budget.
Once wagering is complete within the deadline, the remaining bonus balance converts to withdrawable cash.
Step two is the one most people skip. A baccarat bonus with 10x wagering and 100% weighting is a very different product from one with 10x wagering and 10% weighting, even though the two adverts could look identical. Our guide to how game weighting works walks through the mechanics in more detail.
Game weighting: why baccarat counts for less
Operators set weighting to reflect how much they expect to keep from each game. Slots typically carry house edges of a few per cent, while the banker bet in baccarat returns almost all of what is staked over the long run. If baccarat counted in full, clearing a bonus would cost the player very little, so many terms either cut its contribution or remove it from the bonus altogether.
The table below shows how the same £100 of baccarat hands is treated at different weightings. The percentages are examples of how terms are commonly written, not figures from any one operator.

Excluded games sometimes come with a further catch: some terms say that playing an excluded game with an active bonus can lead to bonus forfeiture. The Gambling Commission’s guidance on promotional play restrictions (opens in a new tab) says prohibited play must be clearly set out in advance, so the restriction should be visible in the terms rather than sprung on you later. See also which games are excluded from bonuses.
Baccarat bonus maths: banker, player and tie
Baccarat has three main bets, and each has its own long-run cost. The figures below are for the standard eight-deck game with 5% commission on banker wins, as set out in Wizard of Odds’ baccarat analysis (opens in a new tab). Side bets and no-commission variants differ, so check the game’s help screen for the version in front of you.

These are averages over a very large number of hands. A single session can swing a long way in either direction, and nothing about a house edge figure tells you what will happen tonight. What the numbers do show is that the tie bet is far more expensive than the other two, which matters when you are turning over a bonus several times.
Worked example: a £50 baccarat bonus at 10x
Take a hypothetical £50 bonus with 10x wagering, the most a UK operator may set since the 10x wagering cap took effect. The wagering target is 10 × £50 = £500. How that target is reached depends entirely on weighting.
On slots at 100%: £500 of spins. At a typical 4% house edge the average cost is about £20, leaving an expected £30 of the bonus.
On baccarat at 100%: £500 of banker bets. At 1.06% the average cost is about £5.30.
On baccarat at 10%: £5,000 of banker bets are needed. At 1.06% the average cost is about £53, which is more than the £50 bonus.
On baccarat at 0%: the bonus can’t be cleared at the table at all.
That third line is the trap. A low edge looks attractive, but a low weighting multiplies the amount you must stake, and the expected cost climbs with it. Use our wagering calculator to rerun the sums with the real figures from any offer, and read expected value of a casino bonus for the method behind them.
Baccarat bonus terms to read line by line
Bonus terms for table games tend to hide the important parts in a game-contribution table near the bottom. These are the lines that change the value of a baccarat bonus most:
Eligible and excluded games: is baccarat named, and does the rule cover live baccarat, RNG baccarat or both?
Contribution percentage: the share of each baccarat stake that counts towards wagering.
Maximum bet: Casumo, for example, caps bets at £5 while a bonus is active; see our page on the casino bonus max bet rule.
Expiry: how many days you have to finish wagering before the bonus lapses.
Maximum win or cashout: some offers cap what bonus play can pay out; see casino bonus max win.
Payment exclusions: whether your deposit method qualifies at all.
Play restrictions: what the operator treats as prohibited play, such as betting both sides.
Our clause-by-clause guide to casino bonus terms covers each of these in more depth. If a significant term is missing or unclear, the significant terms rules mean it should be shown with the offer, not buried.
Why betting both sides breaches baccarat bonus terms
Baccarat bonus terms very often ban betting on banker and player in the same hand, or splitting play across accounts to do the same thing. Operators treat this as irregular play because the two bets largely cancel each other out, so the bonus would be turned over while almost nothing is really at risk. Breaching the rule usually means the bonus and any winnings from it are removed.
The Commission says operators must spell out prohibited types of play clearly and must not reserve sole discretion to decide what counts. That protects you from vague catch-all wording, but it doesn’t make the restriction disappear. If the terms name a pattern of play, following it can void the bonus. Our answer on what counts as irregular play explains how these clauses are written.
UK rules that shape a baccarat bonus in 2026
Several Gambling Commission rules apply to any casino bonus offered to players in Great Britain, including one used at the baccarat table. The dates matter because older guides still quote rules that have since changed.

Baccarat comes in two forms online. RNG baccarat is dealt by software, while live baccarat is streamed from a studio with a real dealer. Bonus terms frequently treat them differently: an offer might allow RNG table games at a reduced weighting while excluding the live casino entirely.
Live baccarat bonuses are rarer still. Our page on why a live casino bonus is hard to find explains the commercial reasons, and our answer on whether live casino counts towards wagering covers the usual weighting. If you mainly play table games, the table games bonus page compares how blackjack, roulette and baccarat are usually treated.
Is a baccarat bonus worth it? Honest alternatives
For most baccarat players the honest answer is that a welcome bonus adds little. If baccarat is excluded, the bonus is irrelevant to the game you want to play. If it counts at a low percentage, the extra hands you must play can cost more than the bonus is worth. Only a rare offer with generous baccarat weighting, a short wagering multiple and a realistic expiry tips the maths in your favour, and even then the outcome of any session is uncertain.
Advantages
Low house edge on banker and player bets
Wagering is capped at 10x in the UK since January 2026
Your own deposit stays withdrawable while a bonus is active
Drawbacks
Baccarat is often excluded or weighted at 5–20%
Low weighting multiplies how much you must stake
Opposite-side betting is commonly treated as irregular play
No partner offer is designed for baccarat
Declining a bonus is a perfectly reasonable choice; see should I opt out of a bonus. Playing without one keeps your balance free of wagering, max-bet and game restrictions.
Keeping baccarat play affordable
Baccarat hands are quick to place, and a low weighting can push you towards far more hands than you planned. Set a deposit limit before you start, decide on a session length, and treat any bonus as part of the cost of an evening’s entertainment rather than a route to profit. Losses are likely over time on every bet the table offers.

Where to play: the closest offers to a baccarat bonus
None of our partner offers is a baccarat bonus, and we won’t pretend otherwise. The three below are slot offers with no wagering on spin winnings, which makes them the simplest to understand. They are 18+ and terms apply to each.
Coral: deposit (certain types excluded) and bet £10+ on slots to get 100 free spins on selected games, 10p each, worth £10. Accept within 48 hours; spins valid for 7 days; no wagering on spin winnings. Neteller, PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill, prepaid cards and certain debit cards don’t qualify.
Ladbrokes: deposit and spend £10+ on slots to get 50 free spins a day for 10 days (up to 500 spins at 10p, worth up to £50). Claim before 23:59 each day; spins valid 7 days; no wagering. Prepaid cards, PayPal, Paysafe, Neteller, Skrill and Moneybookers deposits don’t qualify.
PlayOJO: first deposit of £10+ for 80 free spins on Big Bass Bonanza, 10p each (£8 of spins), with winnings paid as cash. New UK customers excluding Northern Ireland.
Coral and Ladbrokes are run by the same company, so check the terms before opening accounts with both. PlayOJO also pays OJOplus money back on games played, with no wagering; PlayOJO’s help pages and terms say which games earn it. A baccarat qualifying stake wouldn’t trigger the Coral or Ladbrokes offers, because each asks for £10 played on slots.
None of these offers is a baccarat bonus: each one is triggered and played on slots. They are listed as the closest honest alternatives, with no wagering on spin winnings. 18+, terms apply.
Coral and Ladbrokes are both run by LC International Limited (Entain). If you already hold an account with one Entain brand, you may not be able to open a new account with another; check the terms before signing up.
Significant terms: 18+. New players only. Offer runs 01/10/2026 to 01/02/2027. Frequently asked questions
Can I use a casino bonus on baccarat in the UK?
Sometimes, but often only partly. Many UK welcome offers either exclude baccarat or count a small share of each hand towards wagering, and the terms will say which. Look for a game-contribution table or an excluded-games list before you opt in, and check whether live and RNG baccarat are treated differently. If baccarat isn’t mentioned, ask support and keep the reply. Our game weighting guide explains how those percentages work, and the casino bonuses by game hub covers other table games.
What is a typical baccarat contribution to wagering?
There is no single standard: terms commonly set baccarat anywhere from 0% to around 20%, and some count it in full. The figure is set by each operator and can differ between live and RNG versions, so always read the specific offer. At 10%, every £10 hand adds just £1 towards the target, which means ten times more play than on a game counting in full. Our contribution percentage glossary entry has more examples, and do table games count towards wagering covers the wider picture.
Does any of your partner casinos offer a baccarat bonus?
No. Coral, Ladbrokes, PlayOJO, Casumo and 10bet don’t publish a baccarat-specific welcome offer. Coral and Ladbrokes require a £10 qualifying stake on slots, PlayOJO’s 80 spins are on Big Bass Bonanza, and 10bet’s bonus is wagered on slots within three days. Casumo’s 50% bonus up to £100 carries game restrictions, so its terms are the place to check whether any table game counts. All are 18+ with terms applying. Compare them on our casino bonuses page or read the Casumo bonus terms.
Is the banker bet the cheapest way to clear a baccarat bonus?
The banker bet has the lowest house edge of the three main baccarat bets, at 1.06% in the standard eight-deck game, so its average cost per pound staked is lowest. That doesn’t make clearing a bonus cheap: if baccarat counts at 10%, you need ten times more stakes, and the expected cost rises to match. No bet changes the odds in your favour, and any session can lose. Work through the numbers with our wagering calculator and see the house edge entry for what the figure means.
Why is betting on banker and player at once against bonus terms?
Because the two bets largely cancel out, so a bonus would be turned over while very little is really at risk. Many operators list this as prohibited or irregular play, and breaching it usually means losing the bonus and any winnings from it. Gambling Commission guidance says prohibited play must be set out clearly in advance, so the rule should be visible in the terms. Read irregular play for how these clauses are written and what happens if I break bonus terms for the consequences.
Does the 10x wagering cap apply to baccarat bonuses?
Yes. Since 19 January 2026, LCCP social responsibility code 5.1.1 has limited bonus wagering to no more than 10 times the bonus, whatever game you play. The cap doesn’t control weighting, though, so a 10x offer with low baccarat contribution can still need a large amount of play at the table. A £20 bonus at 10x needs £200 of wagering; at 10% weighting that becomes £2,000 of hands. Read our 10x wagering cap page and is 10x wagering good for more.
Do UK stake limits apply to baccarat?
No. The £5 per spin limit for players aged 25 and over, and £2 for 18 to 24-year-olds, applies only to online slots, which the rules describe as reel-based casino games. Baccarat stakes are set by the table limits instead. A bonus can still impose its own maximum bet: Casumo, for instance, caps bets at £5 while a bonus is active. Our page on online slot stake limits explains the slot rule, and the casino bonus max bet page covers bonus caps.
Is a baccarat bonus better on live or RNG tables?
Neither is better by default; what matters is how the terms weight each one. Some offers let RNG baccarat count at a reduced rate while excluding live dealer games, and others exclude both. Live tables also deal fewer hands per hour, which can make a wagering deadline harder to meet. Check the game list for the exact titles before playing. Our live casino bonus page explains why live offers are rare, and how wagering works on live casino covers the counting.
Can I withdraw my deposit if I don’t want to finish baccarat wagering?
Yes. Under the CMA undertakings and Gambling Commission guidance, you must be able to withdraw your deposit balance at any time, even while a bonus is active, and wagering can’t be applied to your own money. Withdrawing usually means the bonus and any winnings made from it are forfeited, so check the terms first. Deposit and bonus balances must be shown separately so you can see which is which. Read can I withdraw my deposit with a bonus active and our CMA bonus principles page.
Are baccarat winnings from a bonus taxed?
No. Gambling winnings aren’t taxed for players in the UK, and that includes winnings converted from bonus funds once wagering is complete. The tax on gambling falls on operators instead: remote gaming duty rose from 21% to 40% on 1 April 2026. That change doesn’t alter the rules on your bonus, though operators may adjust which promotions they run. Our pages on gambling winnings tax and are casino bonuses taxable give the detail.
