Super spins: what the label means

Super spins is a promotional label, not a defined product, and it can describe spins with a higher value than 10p, spins on a named feature-rich slot, or a prize from a reward wheel. The only reliable way to judge super spins is to find the value per spin, the game, the wagering and the expiry in the terms. None of our partners currently uses the name.

Key takeaways

  • Super spins has no fixed meaning; the terms decide what you actually get.
  • Price any spins as count × value per spin, then adjust for RTP, wagering and caps.
  • The slot the spins are tied to matters as much as the spin size.
  • Our partners' spin offers are 10p a spin with no wagering on winnings; 18+ and terms apply.

Super spins: three things the name can mean

Casinos invent names for their spin promotions to make them stand out, and super spins is one of those names. Because there is no industry definition, the same words can cover quite different deals. In UK promotions the label tends to point to one of three things, and only the significant terms will tell you which.

How to read a super spins promotion
What the label may meanWhat to look for in the termsWhy it matters
Spins worth more than 10p eachThe stated value per spin, such as 20p or 50pSets the face value and the size of any single win
Spins on a particular slotThe named game and its RTP settingThe game fixes the return, volatility and top prize
A prize from a wheel or reward gameHow the prize is awarded and what it is worthPrize spins may be random and smaller than the headline suggests

Some slots also have a round with 'super' in its name as part of the game itself. That is a game feature, not a casino offer, and the game's help screen explains how it is triggered. For a wider view of spin promotions, start at our free spins hub.

Super spins at our partner casinos

As of our 5 October 2026 offer check, none of Coral, Ladbrokes, PlayOJO, Casumo or 10bet promotes super spins. Their spin offers are simpler: each spin is 10p and winnings are paid with no wagering. That makes them easy to value, which is the point of this page. If you came here looking for a branded super spins deal at one of our partners, it isn't there; the closest real options are described at the end, and 18+ and terms apply to each.

Casumo and 10bet offer deposit matches rather than spins. Casumo gives a 50% bonus up to £100 on a first deposit of at least £20, with 10x wagering within 7 days; 10bet gives 100% up to £25 with 10x wagering on slots within 3 days. Our comparison of free spins vs a deposit bonus explains how the two formats differ.

Pricing super spins: a worked example

Say an operator advertises 25 super spins at 20p each after a £10 deposit. Here is how to work out what that is worth, step by step, using only figures the terms should give you.

  1. Face value: 25 × 20p = £5 of spins.
  2. Average return: multiply by the slot's RTP. At 96.50% that is about £4.83.
  3. Wagering: if winnings become bonus funds at 10x, £4.83 needs about £48 of play. At a 4% house edge that costs around £1.93, leaving roughly £2.90 expected.
  4. Caps: if spin winnings are capped, note the cap. It rarely changes the average much but limits the best outcome.
  5. Time: check how long you have to use the spins and to finish any wagering.

Now set that beside PlayOJO's offer: 80 spins at 10p is £8 of spins, and at Big Bass Bonanza's published 96.71% RTP the average return is about £7.74, paid as cash with no wagering. The super-sounding offer is worth less than half as much in expected terms. The label told you nothing; the numbers told you everything. Use our wagering calculator to run your own figures.

How the chosen slot changes what super spins are worth

Spin offers are tied to selected games, and each game brings its own RTP, volatility and maximum win. The table uses published figures for well-known titles to show how much the game can change things for £10 of spins.

£10 of spins on four slots (published specifications)
SlotRTPVolatilityMax winAverage return on £10Top prize on a 20p spin
Gates of Olympus96.50%High5,000xabout £9.65£1,000
Fishin' Frenzy96.12%Medium5,000xabout £9.61£1,000
Rainbow Riches95.00%Medium500xabout £9.50£100
Sweet Bonanza96.48%High21,100xabout £9.65£4,220

The averages sit within 15p of each other, but the experience is very different. A high-volatility game such as Gates of Olympus will often return little from a short batch of spins, while a medium-volatility one such as Fishin' Frenzy tends to spread returns more evenly. A 500x ceiling, as on Rainbow Riches, limits the upside whatever the spin size. Games are also supplied at different RTP settings, so check the figure on the help screen before you play.

Super spins terms to read line by line

Whatever the label, the same handful of clauses decide whether super spins are a fair deal. The Gambling Commission's transparency guidance (opens in a new tab) says significant conditions must be clear and shown with the headline offer, not buried in general terms. These are the ones to find:

  • Value per spin. Without it you can't price the offer. See what stake are free spins played at?
  • Eligibility. New customers only, age, location and any one-per-household rule.
  • Qualifying step. The deposit or qualifying bet needed, and any payment methods that don't count.
  • Winnings. Cash or bonus funds, and the wagering multiple if bonus funds.
  • Cap. Any maximum on what spin winnings can pay; our free spins max win page covers this.
  • Time limits. The claim window and how long the spins stay in your account.
  • Game. The named slot or list of selected games.

Are super spins free? What UK ad rules say

Many super spins promotions need a deposit or a bet first, so calling them free needs care. CAP rule 3.24 says marketing must make clear the extent of the commitment you must make to take a 'free' offer, and the CAP rules on 'free' claims (opens in a new tab) say a product shouldn't be described as free if you have to pay anything beyond unavoidable costs. CAP's gambling guidance adds that an offer shouldn't be called free where you must risk your own money to qualify.

In practice that is why careful operators write '25 super spins when you deposit £10' rather than 'free super spins'. Our explainer on the 'free' rule in gambling ads has the detail.

UK rules for super spins since January 2026

Two Gambling Commission changes took effect on 19 January 2026 under social responsibility code 5.1.1 (opens in a new tab). Wagering on any bonus is capped at 10 times the bonus, and a single incentive may no longer mix products, so 'bet on football, get super spins' style offers are gone. The code also stops a casino altering or increasing a reward because you met the qualifying spend sooner than the full offer period.

Older rules still apply too. Since 14 April 2020 you can't deposit with a credit card, and since 31 October 2021 UK slots have had no autoplay or turbo spins and at least 2.5 seconds per spin. Online slot stakes you place yourself are limited to £5 per spin at 25 and over, and £2 for those aged 18 to 24. Our bonus rules timeline lists them in date order.

Super spins vs standard 10p spins

Advantages

  • Higher value per spin can mean a larger single win
  • Often fewer spins, so quicker to play
  • A named feature-rich game can be appealing

Drawbacks

  • Label can hide a low total value
  • Bigger stakes swing more over a short run
  • Any win cap is reached sooner
  • Prize-wheel versions may award less than the headline

None of these points changes the long-run maths: the house edge applies to every spin, whatever it is called, and losses are the expected result over time. For a plain comparison of spin formats, see mega spins, which looks at the same idea from the stake-size angle, and bonus spins vs free spins.

Keeping super spins in proportion

A catchy label is designed to grab attention. It is fine to ignore it. Before you deposit, set a deposit limit in the account; UK casinos must prompt you to set a financial limit before your first deposit since 31 October 2025. If you want a break from gambling sites altogether, GAMSTOP (opens in a new tab) blocks access to all UK-licensed online casinos for six months to five years. Our safer gambling page lists other free support.

Frequently asked questions

What are super spins?

Super spins are promotional slot spins sold under a brand name, and the label can mean higher-value spins, spins on a particular game or a prize from a reward wheel. There is no standard definition in UK rules, so the significant terms must tell you the value per spin, the game and any wagering. Price them as spins × value, then adjust for RTP. Our free spins hub explains each spin format, and 18+ and terms apply to every offer.

Are super spins worth more than normal free spins?

Super spins are only worth more if the value per spin times the number of spins comes out higher. Twenty-five super spins at 20p are £5 of spins, while 80 standard spins at 10p are £8. Wagering, caps and the chosen slot then change the expected value further. A no-wagering 10p offer can easily beat a bigger-sounding super spins deal. Our guide to free spins value shows the full formula with examples.

Which UK casinos offer super spins?

Super spins appear at some UK-licensed casinos from time to time, but none of our five partners runs a promotion under that name as of 5 October 2026. Their spin offers at PlayOJO, Coral and Ladbrokes are plain 10p spins with no wagering on winnings after a £10 deposit or slots bet. If you meet the label elsewhere, check the operator's licence on the Gambling Commission register first. Our answer on which casino has the best free spins compares the real options.

Do super spins have wagering?

Super spins can carry wagering or be wager-free; the terms of each promotion decide. Since 19 January 2026 wagering on any bonus at a UK-licensed casino can't exceed 10 times the bonus, so £6 of spin winnings would need at most £60 of play. If winnings are paid as cash, there is nothing to play through and you can withdraw them. The wagering-free version is usually worth more. Read are wager-free spins better? for the comparison.

Can super spins be used on any slot?

Super spins are normally locked to one named slot or a short list of selected games, not any slot you like. The game is chosen by the casino and set out in the offer terms or on the promotion page. Opening the spins on another game won't use them. The chosen slot fixes the RTP, volatility and top prize, so it shapes the value. See how do I know which slots my free spins are on? for where to check.

Is a super spin the same as a slot's super free spins feature?

No, a casino's super spins offer and a slot's own super free spins round are different things. The offer is a promotion the casino gives you, with its own value, terms and expiry. The game feature is part of the slot's design, triggered by symbols during play and explained on the help screen. Casino spins can trigger a game's feature if it lands, but they don't start it automatically. Our answer to can free spins trigger the bonus round? covers this.

How long do super spins last?

Super spins usually have two time limits: a window to claim or accept them and a period to play them once credited. Partner examples show the range: Coral gives 48 hours to accept its spins and 7 days to use them, and Ladbrokes asks you to claim each day's batch before 23:59, with 7 days to use it. Unused spins are removed when the period ends. Our free spins expiry guide lists the different clocks and how they interact.

Why would a casino call spins super spins?

Casinos give spins names like super spins mainly to make the offer stand out in adverts and on promotion pages. The name may signal higher-value spins or a featured game, but it isn't regulated and doesn't promise better value. What has to be clear, under UK rules, are the significant conditions such as deposit, wagering and time limits. Treat the label as packaging and the terms as the product. The page on significant terms explains which conditions must be shown.

Can I lose money with super spins?

Yes, you can lose money if you count the deposit or bet you had to make to receive super spins. The spins themselves don't take extra money from your balance, but the qualifying stake is real money at risk, and any wagering on spin winnings is played at the house edge. Bigger spins also produce more nil results. Treat the deposit as the cost of entertainment. Read can you lose money with free spins? for worked examples.

Are super spins legal in the UK?

Super spins promotions are legal when a Gambling Commission-licensed operator offers them under UK rules. That means wagering of no more than 10x since 19 January 2026, no mixing of casino and betting products in one offer, clear significant terms and verified age and identity before you play. Offers from unlicensed sites carry none of those protections. Our answer to is a bonus legal in the UK? explains how to check a licence.
