A bonus on app vs website is, at our five partner casinos, the same offer with the same terms: the app does not pay more and the website does not pay less. What can differ is the route in, because some offers only track through a designated link, and the app store adds its own age rating, device requirements and data permissions.
The welcome offers at Coral, Ladbrokes, PlayOJO, Casumo and 10bet have one set of terms that covers the app and the website.
PlayOJO's 80 spins are only available through the designated offer link, so sign up through that link before installing anything.
Payment exclusions follow the method, not the device: PayPal, Skrill, Neteller and prepaid cards miss out at Coral and Ladbrokes either way.
Coral and Ladbrokes have casino-only apps; Casumo on iOS and 10bet use one combined sports and casino app.
Limits, time-outs and GAMSTOP apply across the whole account, whichever screen you use. 18+, terms apply.

Bonus on app vs website: the short answer
Whether you claim a casino bonus on the app or on the website, the deal itself is identical at every partner we cover. Coral's 100 spins after a £10 slots bet, Ladbrokes' up to 500 spins over ten days, PlayOJO's 80 no-wagering spins, Casumo's 50% match up to £100 and 10bet's 100% match up to £25 each have one set of published terms, and none of those terms mentions a separate app version or an app-only extra.
So the useful question is not which screen pays more, but which route gets you through the door cleanly. For a bonus on app vs website, three things decide that: whether the offer has to be opened through a specific link, which app you actually install (several brands have more than one), and whether your phone meets the app's requirements. Everything else, from the wagering requirements to the expiry clock, follows your account rather than your device.
Our comparison covers the casino apps and websites of Coral, Ladbrokes, PlayOJO, Casumo and 10bet, using the offer terms as last checked on 5 October 2026 and the UK app store listings. For the wider device question, see our mobile vs desktop bonus comparison and the full bonus comparison hub.
App, mobile site and desktop site: three routes to one account
It helps to separate three things people lump together as 'mobile'. A native app is downloaded from the App Store or Google Play and installed on the phone. A mobile website is the casino's normal site opened in Safari or Chrome on the same phone. A desktop website is that site on a laptop or computer. All three log in to one account, with one balance, one set of limits and one bonus history.
Because the account is shared, a welcome bonus claimed on the website is visible in the app the moment you log in there, and the reverse is true too. Free spins credited after a qualifying bet on a laptop can be played on a phone, provided the spins' listed games load on that device. Our answer to whether free spins work on the app goes through the usual exceptions, such as a game that is temporarily unavailable on one platform.
What you cannot do is claim the welcome offer twice by opening an account on the website and another in the app. A welcome bonus is for new customers, and a second account breaks the terms at every partner. Our guide to claiming two welcome bonuses explains why winnings from duplicate accounts are voided.
Is the bonus on the app the same as on the website? Offer by offer
The table sets each partner's welcome offer against the two routes. 'Same' means the offer terms describe a single offer for new customers with no platform condition; it is not a claim that every screen looks identical.

In pounds, the values do not move with the device either. Coral's batch is 100 × 10p = £10 of spins. Ladbrokes' full run is up to 500 × 10p = £50 of spins, paid as £5 a day. PlayOJO's 80 spins are worth £8. A £200 deposit at Casumo brings the £100 maximum bonus and £1,000 of wagering, and a £25 deposit at 10bet brings a £25 bonus with £250 to wager inside three days. On the bonus on app vs website question, then, the pounds are a tie.
The offer link: why where you sign up can matter more than the device
The one real trap in the app vs website question is tracking. Some welcome offers are attached to a particular landing page, and the casino knows you qualify because you registered after arriving through it. PlayOJO's terms say its 80-spin offer is available only via the designated offer link and can't be combined with other offers. If you skip the link, search the store, install the app and register there, the account may simply never be tagged for that promotion.
The safe order is therefore: open the offer page in your phone's browser or on a computer, read the significant terms, register through that page, and only then install the app and log in with the same details. The account and its offer travel with you. If an offer you expected is missing, contact support before you deposit rather than after; our page on why a bonus was not credited lists the usual causes.
None of our partners needs a promo code, so there is nothing extra to type in either the app or the site. That makes the bonus on app vs website choice simpler: the offer is attached to the account at registration, not to a code entered on one platform.
What the App Store and Google Play add to a casino bonus
A website needs only a browser. An app sits behind a store, and the store listing carries information the website does not: the minimum operating system, the download size, an age rating and a privacy summary. All five partner casino apps are rated 18+ on Apple's UK App Store and PEGI 18 on Google Play. None of that changes the bonus, but an app that will not install on an older phone is a practical reason to use the mobile website instead.

Google Play listings no longer show a minimum Android version on the web page, so on Android the store will tell you on the device whether the app is compatible. You can read Coral's requirements on its App Store listing for the Coral casino app (opens in a new tab). If your phone is below the stated iOS version, the casino's mobile website in the browser gives you the same account and the same offer without the download.
Casino-only apps vs combined sports and casino apps
Coral and Ladbrokes each run a dedicated casino app alongside a separate sportsbook app. If you want the casino welcome offer, the casino app is the one to install; the sportsbook app is built around betting. Casumo's iPhone app and 10bet's app combine sports and casino in one download, which means the welcome choice happens inside the same app as the sportsbook.
That matters more since 19 January 2026, when the Gambling Commission banned promotions that mix gambling products, alongside the 10x wagering cap. A single offer can no longer say 'bet on football, get casino spins'. The Commission's announcement on safer and simpler gambling promotions (opens in a new tab) sets out both changes. In practice, at 10bet you pick the casino welcome bonus at sign-up, and our page on choosing a sports or casino welcome offer explains why you now choose one. The rule itself is summarised on our mixed-product promotion ban page.
Paying for a bonus in the app vs on the website
Payment exclusions are tied to the method, never to the screen. A PayPal deposit that does not qualify for Coral's spins on the website does not qualify in the app either. The table pulls the exclusions from each offer's terms.

Casumo

10bet

Apps can make wallet payments quicker. Casumo's App Store listing mentions Apple Pay and a Quick Deposit option, and Coral's and Ladbrokes' help centres list Apple Pay and Google Pay among their deposit methods. Speed is not the same as eligibility, though: whether a wallet deposit counts towards a particular welcome offer is a question for that offer's terms. Our pages on the Apple Pay casino bonus and how payment exclusions work go further. Credit cards cannot be used to gamble in Great Britain on any platform, a rule in force since 14 April 2020.
Reading bonus terms in an app compared with a browser
The rules on showing terms apply to the product as a whole. Under the Gambling Commission's LCCP 5.1.9 code on marketing incentives (opens in a new tab), significant conditions must be shown prominently at the point of sale and in adverts, the full conditions must be no more than one click away online, and each offer's terms must stay available for as long as the promotion runs. There is no lighter standard for an app.
The difference is comfort. On a small screen the terms often open in an in-app browser panel, long tables wrap, and it is easier to accept a promotion without scrolling to the clause on excluded payment methods or expiry. On a laptop the full page is easier to read in one go. A practical habit is to read the full terms wherever you find it easiest, take a screenshot of the key lines, and then claim on whichever device you like. Our line-by-line guide to reading a significant terms box shows what to look for.
Worked example: one bonus claimed in the app and on the website
Take two people who each place a £10 slots bet to trigger Coral's offer, one in the casino app and one on the website. Both receive 100 spins at 10p, which is £10 of spins. If the selected games pay back around 96% on average, the spins return about £9.60 in the long run, and because the offer has no wagering on spin winnings, whatever they return is withdrawable cash. Neither person gets a better rate because of the device, which is the core of the bonus on app vs website comparison; any gap between their results is ordinary variance.
Now a match bonus. Someone deposits £200 at Casumo and receives the £100 maximum. The bonus must be wagered 10 times, so £1,000 of play within seven days, at no more than £5 a bet while the bonus is active. On slots with a 4% house edge, £1,000 of wagering costs about £40 on average, more than a third of the bonus, and individual sessions can go far above or below that. Those figures are identical in the app and in a browser, because the house edge lives in the game, not the screen.

Remember that slot stake limits apply everywhere too: £5 a spin for players aged 25 and over and £2 for 18 to 24-year-olds. Our online slot stake limits page has the dates.
Permissions and data: what an app asks for that a website does not
An installed app can ask for permissions a browser tab usually cannot, and the store listings say what each one collects. Coral's iOS privacy label lists coarse location linked to you; Ladbrokes' lists precise location not linked to you. PlayOJO's App Store listing for PlayOJO (opens in a new tab) states the app may use your location even when it is not open. Google Play's data safety notes for Casumo and 10bet say their apps may share or collect location. None of the operators' help pages we checked states that location services are required to claim a bonus.
Notifications are a separate question. Since 1 May 2025, the direct marketing preferences code (opens in a new tab) has required casino operators to let customers opt in to marketing for each product and each channel (phone, email and SMS) at registration, with opting out as the default. App push alerts are not named in that list, so check the app's notification settings and your phone's settings if you would rather not be prompted about offers. Email and text preferences can be changed in the account settings on either platform.
One genuine app convenience: Casumo's iOS listing mentions Face ID and Touch ID login. The other partners' listings do not mention biometric login, so we make no claim either way for them.
Safer gambling tools on the app and the website
Deposit limits, time-outs and reality checks are set on the account, so a limit chosen on the website binds the app too. Since 31 October 2025, operators must prompt you to set a financial limit before your first deposit, wherever you make it, and a decrease takes effect immediately. PlayOJO's app listing names Safe Mate, Take A Break and Deposit Limits; 10bet's lists deposit limits, breaks and self-exclusion in the account settings.
Self-exclusion through GAMSTOP (opens in a new tab) covers GB-licensed gambling websites and apps together, so deleting an app is not the same as stepping away from the account. If gambling is costing more than you planned, the National Gambling Helpline on 0808 8020 133 is free and open around the clock. Our deposit limit entry and the responsible gambling page list the tools and services.
How to claim a welcome bonus if you plan to use the app
Open the offer page in your phone's browser or on a computer and read the headline terms, including excluded payment methods and expiry.
Register through that page so the account is tagged for the offer (essential for PlayOJO's designated link).
Complete age and identity checks; UK operators must verify you before you deposit or gamble.
Set a deposit limit when prompted before the first deposit.
Install the correct app (Coral or Ladbrokes casino app, not the sportsbook) and log in with the same details.
Make the qualifying deposit or bet with a method the offer accepts, and opt in where the terms require it (Casumo).
Check the bonus area for the spins or bonus, and note the claim window and expiry dates.
Our step-by-step guide on how to claim a casino bonus covers each partner in more detail, and the casino's help centre explains what documents may be asked for during verification.
App or website for a casino bonus: verdict by type of player

Bonus on app vs website: where to claim with our partners
Coral comes closest to a device-neutral offer: deposit with a qualifying method, bet £10 on slots in the app or on the site, and get 100 free spins at 10p (accept within 48 hours, valid 7 days, no wagering on winnings). Ladbrokes suits people who will open the casino app or site daily anyway, with 50 spins a day for 10 days after a £10 slots spend (up to 500, 10p each, no wagering). PlayOJO's 80 no-wagering spins on Big Bass Bonanza after a £10+ first deposit need the designated offer link, so start in a browser. All are 18+, new customers only, and terms apply.
Coral and Ladbrokes are both run by LC International Limited, so check the terms before trying to open new accounts at both. Frequently asked questions
Is a casino bonus better on the app than on the website?
No, at our five partner casinos the welcome offer is the same on the app and the website. Coral's 100 spins after a £10 slots bet, Ladbrokes' up to 500 daily spins, PlayOJO's 80 spins, Casumo's 50% up to £100 and 10bet's 100% up to £25 each have one set of terms with no app-only extra. The value in pounds, the wagering and the expiry follow your account, not your phone. Our mobile vs desktop bonus page covers the device question more widely.
Can I sign up on the website and claim the bonus in the app?
Yes, one account works on the website and the app, so an offer attached at registration appears wherever you log in. Many people find it easiest to register through the offer page in a browser, then install the app and sign in with the same details. That order matters most for PlayOJO, whose 80 spins are only available through the designated offer link. Check the bonus area before your first deposit. See how to claim a casino bonus for each partner's steps.
Why did I not get PlayOJO's spins after installing the app?
The most likely reason is that the account was not opened through PlayOJO's designated offer link, which its terms require for the 80 no-wagering spins. Downloading the app from the store and registering there may not carry the link. Other causes include living in Northern Ireland, which the offer excludes, or a first deposit below £10. Contact PlayOJO's live chat or email before depositing again. Our page on why a bonus was not credited lists further checks.
Which Coral or Ladbrokes app should I download for the casino bonus?
Download the dedicated casino app, not the sportsbook app. On the UK App Store they are listed as Coral Casino: Slots & Games and Ladbrokes Casino Games & Slots, and both need iOS 18.0 or later on iPhone. The welcome spins are casino offers, and since 19 January 2026 a single promotion cannot mix casino and betting. If your phone cannot install the app, the mobile website gives the same offer. Our Coral app bonus page covers the details.
Do payment exclusions change if I deposit in the app?
No, payment exclusions depend on the method you use, not on the device. At Coral, Neteller, PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill, prepaid cards and certain debit cards do not qualify for the 100 spins. At Ladbrokes, prepaid cards, PayPal, Paysafe, Neteller, Skrill and Moneybookers are excluded. At 10bet, Skrill and Neteller miss the welcome bonus. The same lists apply on the website. Our page on Skrill and Neteller casino bonuses explains why e-wallets are often left out.
Are app-only casino bonuses common in the UK?
They exist at some UK casinos, but none of our five partners lists an app-only welcome offer in the terms we checked. Where an operator does run one, it must follow the same rules as any other incentive: wagering capped at 10x since 19 January 2026, significant terms shown upfront and full terms one click away. Read the app-only terms as carefully as any website offer. Our app-only bonus guide explains how these promotions work.
Can my free spins be played on the app if I claimed them on a laptop?
Usually yes, because spins sit in the account rather than on a device. Once credited, they can be opened from the app or mobile site, provided the listed games are available on that platform. Coral's spins must be accepted within 48 hours and then used within 7 days, and Ladbrokes' daily batches are valid for 7 days, so check the clock rather than the device. If spins are missing, see why free spins are not showing.
Do casino apps ask for my location to give me a bonus?
None of the partners' help pages we checked says location services are required to claim a bonus. The store listings do show location data: Coral's iOS label lists coarse location linked to you, Ladbrokes' lists precise location not linked to you, PlayOJO's says the app may use location even when closed, and Casumo's and 10bet's Google Play notes mention location. If that concerns you, the mobile website works with the same account and offer. See our mobile casino bonus guide.
Is it safer to claim a bonus on the website than on the app?
Neither route is safer for the bonus itself, because both are covered by the same Gambling Commission licence and the same account-level protections. Deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion apply across the app and the site, and GAMSTOP blocks both. The website can make full terms easier to read, which helps avoid surprises. A bonus never changes the house edge, so set a budget either way. Our is a casino bonus worth it guide puts the costs in pounds.
Do the 10x wagering cap and stake limits apply in casino apps?
Yes, every UK rule on bonuses and slots applies equally to apps and websites run under a Gambling Commission licence. Wagering has been capped at 10 times the bonus since 19 January 2026, and online slot stakes are limited to £5 a spin for players aged 25 and over and £2 for 18 to 24-year-olds. Casumo's own £5 maximum bet with an active bonus sits on top. Our 10x wagering cap page explains the rule and its dates.
