Free spins on NetEnt slots are fixed-stake spins, usually 10p, on classics like Starburst, Gonzo's Quest or Blood Suckers, and their value depends heavily on which of those games you get. NetEnt's range runs from gentle low-volatility titles to very swingy ones, so the same 100 spins can behave very differently.
100 free spins at 10p are £10 of play; on Starburst at 96.09% RTP the long-run average return is about £9.61.
Starburst has no free spins round of its own: its feature is expanding wilds that trigger re-spins.
Low-volatility NetEnt games give steadier small wins; Dead or Alive 2 and Starburst XXXtreme swing far more.
Progressive jackpot games such as Mega Fortune include jackpot contributions in their RTP and are rarely used for spin offers.
Our partners' spin offers use their own listed games; 18+, terms apply.

Free spins on NetEnt slots: the short answer
When a UK casino gives free spins on a NetEnt game, you get a set number of spins at a set stake on a named title. Each spin is worth its stake, so 50 spins at 10p are £5 of play. What you take away depends on the game's return to player, how volatile it is, the game's own cap on wins and whether the casino attaches wagering. NetEnt is a useful case because its catalogue covers the full range, from the calm Starburst to the far wilder Dead or Alive 2.
None of our five partners runs a NetEnt-specific spins deal at the moment. Coral and Ladbrokes publish their own lists of selected games for their spin offers, and PlayOJO's welcome spins are on Big Bass Bonanza, which is not a NetEnt game. The maths below applies wherever you meet NetEnt spins; our free spins hub compares the live partner offers.
Who NetEnt is and why its slots suit spin offers
NetEnt was founded in 1996 and is based in Stockholm. It has been part of Evolution since December 2020, which also owns Red Tiger, Big Time Gaming and Nolimit City; Evolution's site (opens in a new tab) lists the group's brands. NetEnt is known for Starburst, Gonzo's Quest and Mega Fortune, and for mechanics such as avalanche reels, expanding wilds and linked twin reels.
Its older hits have long been a staple of spin promotions because they run at low stakes, play quickly and pay small wins often. That makes them feel generous in a short session, although the long-run return is the same few per cent below the stake as on any other slot.
NetEnt slots for free spins: RTP, volatility and max win
These are the NetEnt games in our checked slot data, excluding the jackpot titles covered further down. RTP is the published figure for the version named; casinos can run lower settings on some games, so the help screen is the final word.
NetEnt slots: published RTP, volatility and max win
Low and high volatility: why NetEnt free spins feel so different
Volatility describes how a slot spreads its return. Starburst and Blood Suckers are listed as low volatility: frequent small wins, few large ones. Dead or Alive 2 and Starburst XXXtreme are high: long dry runs and occasional big hits. Over a lifetime of spins both kinds return close to their RTP, but over 50 or 100 free spins the experience is very different.
On a low-volatility game, 100 spins at 10p will usually return something in the region of a few pounds, rarely nothing and rarely a lot.
On a high-volatility game, the same 100 spins will often return less than a low-volatility game would, with a small chance of a much larger result.
The long-run average of both is still roughly stake × RTP; volatility changes the spread, not the average.
If you prefer a likely small cash-out from no-wagering spins, the calmer games suit you. If you'd accept a likely small result for a slim chance of a big one, the higher-volatility titles do. Our comparison of free spins on low vs high volatility slots and the low volatility slots page explore the trade-off.
Starburst free spins and the re-spin question
Starburst is probably the most common name in UK spin offers, yet it has no free spins round. Its feature is the Starburst wild: it appears on the middle three reels, expands to fill the reel and holds in place while the other reels spin again. Further wilds add more re-spins, up to three. The game also pays both ways across its 10 lines.
That shapes what casino spins on Starburst can do. There is no bonus round to trigger, so results come from line wins and wild re-spins, and the game's cap of 500x means a single 10p spin can't pay more than £50. Starburst XXXtreme and Starburst Galaxy are different games with far higher caps (200,000x and 25,000x) and their own features, so check which one an offer names. When the game does have a round, a casino spin can start it: see can free spins trigger the bonus round.
How NetEnt's own free spins rounds work
Where NetEnt games do have a free spins feature, it is normally started by scatter symbols and adds a twist the base game lacks. A few examples from our data and the games' published descriptions:
Gonzo's Quest: winning symbols explode and new ones fall in (avalanche), with a multiplier that rises on consecutive wins and runs higher during the Free Falls round.
Gonzo's Quest 2: avalanche wins grow the grid and the multiplier, and Calamity Wilds can appear.
Vikings: the Raid Spins round moves to a 7 × 5 layout with 78,125 ways to win.
Blood Suckers 2: a Hidden Treasure pick bonus sits alongside Blood Rose free spins.
Rage of the Seas: free spins run on 5,488 ways with random modifiers.
Dead or Alive 2: a choice of free spins modes with different sticky-wild and multiplier rules; the help screen lists each.
Spin counts, retrigger rules and multipliers vary by version, so open the paytable before you play. A round reached from a casino free spin plays at that spin's stake, so on a 10p spin every win inside the round is based on 10p.
NetEnt jackpot slots and free spins offers
NetEnt's progressive games work differently. Part of every stake feeds the jackpot pool, so the quoted RTP includes that contribution. Divine Fortune's 96.59% includes about 4.07 points of jackpot contribution, which means the everyday return from line wins is much lower than the headline figure. Mega Joker's top RTP of up to 99% applies only at the top stake with its Supermeter mode, not at 10p.

The table uses each game's published RTP and assumes 10p spins. Average returns are long-run figures and any single batch can land well above or below them.

Now add wagering. Suppose 100 Starburst spins return their average of £9.61 and the casino credits it as bonus funds with 10x wagering, the most UK rules allow since 19 January 2026 under LCCP social responsibility code 5.1.1 (opens in a new tab). You'd need £96.10 of further play. Starburst's house edge is 3.91%, so that play costs about £3.76 on average, leaving an expected value of roughly £5.85. With no wagering the same spins are worth about £9.61. Our free spins value guide walks through more cases.
What the UK version of NetEnt slots changes
NetEnt games supplied to Great Britain follow the Commission's online slot design rules, in force since 31 October 2021 and summarised in the Commission's table of changes to the technical standards (opens in a new tab). Each spin must be started individually, with no autoplay; a spin cycle must last at least 2.5 seconds; turbo and slam-stop are switched off; and the game must not celebrate a return equal to or below the stake. Feature buys aren't offered on slots at UK-licensed casinos. See our slot game design rules page.
The game must also show its RTP or likelihood of winning before you play, under the Commission's RTS 3 standard (opens in a new tab), and stake limits of £5 per spin (25 and over) and £2 (18 to 24) apply to all online slots. A 10p casino spin is far below both.
How to use NetEnt free spins: a quick checklist
Confirm the exact game named in the offer: Starburst, Starburst XXXtreme and Starburst Galaxy are three different slots.
Check the qualifying deposit or bet, excluded payment methods and the deadline to accept the spins.
Open the game's help screen and note the RTP version and whether it has a free spins round at all.
Play the spins at the fixed stake within the expiry period; unused spins are normally lost.
Look at where winnings land, cash or bonus balance, and stop at the point you decided on beforehand.
If a partner's spins are on a list of games, our guide to how free spins are credited explains where they appear in your account.
Where to use free spins on NetEnt slots
No partner currently ties its welcome spins to a NetEnt game, so the honest answer is to check each offer's game list. Coral's offer gives 100 free spins at 10p after a new customer deposits and bets £10 on slots, with no wagering on spin winnings; spins must be accepted within 48 hours and used within 7 days, and the offer runs 1 October 2026 to 1 February 2027. Neteller, PayPal, Paysafe, Skrill, prepaid cards and certain debit cards don't qualify. Our Coral free spins page covers the terms.
Ladbrokes gives 50 free spins a day for 10 days (up to 500, 10p each) after a £10 slots spend, no wagering, claim by 23:59 each day, 7 days to use; PayPal, Paysafe, Neteller, Skrill, Moneybookers and prepaid card deposits don't qualify. Both list selected games on the promotion page, so check whether any NetEnt titles are included. PlayOJO's 80 no-wagering spins (first deposit of £10 or more, 10p each, new UK customers excluding Northern Ireland) are on Big Bass Bonanza instead. All offers are 18+ and terms apply. Treat spins as entertainment that costs money, and use deposit limits and time-outs if you need them.
Coral and Ladbrokes are both run by LC International Limited (Entain). If you already hold an account with one Entain brand, you may not be able to open a new account with another; check the terms before signing up.

Frequently asked questions
Does Starburst have a free spins bonus round?
No. Starburst has no free spins round; its feature is the expanding Starburst wild, which can land on the three middle reels, fills the reel and triggers a re-spin, with up to three re-spins in a row. Casino free spins on Starburst therefore pay through line wins and wild re-spins only. The game's cap is 500 times the stake, so a 10p spin can pay at most £50. Starburst XXXtreme and Starburst Galaxy are separate games with different features and far higher caps. Our Starburst free spins page explains the full feature.
What is the best NetEnt slot for free spins?
There's no single best, because it depends on what you want from a short batch of spins. Blood Suckers has the highest published RTP in our data at 98.00% and is low volatility, so results tend to be steady and small. Starburst is similar in feel at 96.09%. Dead or Alive 2 and Starburst XXXtreme are high volatility, with long quiet spells and occasional large wins. In practice you rarely choose: the casino names the game. Our guide to high RTP slots for bonuses explains why RTP alone doesn't decide value.
How much can you win from 100 NetEnt free spins at 10p?
On average, a little under £10, because 100 spins at 10p are £10 of play and NetEnt's games return roughly 96% to 98% in the long run. The ceiling depends on the game: £50 per spin on Starburst, £250 on Gonzo's Quest and over £11,000 on Dead or Alive 2. Hitting a cap is very rare, and many batches of 100 spins return only a few pounds. Some offers also set their own maximum win on spin winnings. Our answer to do free spins have a max win explains both kinds of cap.
Who owns NetEnt?
NetEnt has been owned by Evolution since December 2020. Evolution is best known for live casino games and also owns the slot studios Red Tiger, Big Time Gaming and Nolimit City. NetEnt itself was founded in 1996 and is based in Stockholm, Sweden. Ownership doesn't change how a free spin works, but it explains why NetEnt, Red Tiger and Big Time Gaming games often appear together in casino lobbies. Our Big Time Gaming free spins page covers one of the sister studios.
Are NetEnt jackpot slots included in free spins offers?
Usually not, and you should assume not unless the offer names one. Progressive games such as Mega Fortune and Hall of Gods put part of each stake into a growing jackpot, and the RTP figure includes that share, so day-to-day returns are lower than the headline suggests. Casinos often exclude jackpot games from spin offers and from bonus wagering, and where they are included the terms may say whether jackpot wins count. Read the offer's game list and terms. Our jackpot slots bonus page sets out the common clauses.
Why does Blood Suckers have a 98% RTP?
Blood Suckers is published at 98.00% RTP, one of the highest in our slot data, and it is listed as low volatility. That combination means wins are frequent and modest and the long-run cost of play is small, about 2p per £1 staked. It doesn't mean you'll win: over 100 spins at 10p the average return is about £9.80, not more than the £10 staked. Because of its return, some casinos exclude it from bonus wagering. Check the help screen for the RTP your casino runs. Our Blood Suckers free spins page covers the game.
Can I play NetEnt free spins on the Gonzo's Quest Free Falls round?
You can only reach Free Falls by landing the required Free Fall symbols during a spin; it can't be bought in the UK. Casino free spins on Gonzo's Quest can trigger it, and any winnings from the round count as winnings from that spin under the offer's terms. In Free Falls the avalanche multiplier runs higher than in the base game. The round plays at the stake of the triggering spin, so on a 10p spin everything is based on 10p. Our Gonzo's Quest free spins page explains the feature in more detail.
Do NetEnt free spins have wagering in the UK?
That's set by the casino, not by NetEnt. Many UK spin offers now pay winnings as cash with no wagering, including all three partner spin offers listed on this page. If an offer does attach wagering, UK rules since 19 January 2026 cap it at 10 times the bonus. On 100 Starburst spins returning an average £9.61, 10x wagering means about £96 of extra play, costing roughly £3.76 on average. Our 10x wagering cap page explains the rule and how it applies to spin winnings.
Is Twin Spin good for free spins?
Twin Spin is a medium-high volatility NetEnt slot with a published RTP of 96.56% and 243 ways to win, built around linked reels that can expand from two up to five identical reels on a spin. It has a 1,080x cap, so a 10p spin can pay up to £108. On 100 spins at 10p the long-run average return is about £9.66. It gives more variety than Starburst but less than the high-volatility titles. Twin Spin Megaways is a separate game with up to 117,649 ways. Our Twin Spin free spins page has the details.
Are free spins on NetEnt slots really free?
Not in the everyday sense. UK casino spins come with conditions, usually a qualifying deposit or a £10 slots bet, and the spins themselves are stake-funded plays whose results follow the game's maths. Once you've met the condition, the spins cost nothing further, and with no-wagering offers what you win is yours. But the qualifying spend is real money, and the house edge applies to it. UK advertising rules require that condition to be stated next to the word 'free'. Our answer to are free spins really free explains the rules.
