Sky Bet and Paddy Power owner Flutter grows UK revenue 4% as online casino offsets weak sport
Flutter owns Sky Bet, Paddy Power and Betfair, some of the biggest names in British gambling. Its third-quarter results on 4 November showed UK and Ireland revenue up 4%, carried by online casino while sports results went against it. They also show how operators are using jackpot promotions, rather than ever-bigger welcome offers, to keep players engaged.

Key points
- Flutter’s UK and Ireland revenue rose 4% to $889m in the third quarter of 2026.
- UK and Ireland online gaming grew double digits, with average monthly players up 20%, helped by World Cup cross-sell and Sky Bet’s Big Drop jackpot promotion.
- Customer-friendly sports results cost its international business about $131m of revenue.
- International profit margin fell 2.8 points to 18.0%, mainly because of the rise in UK remote gaming duty from 21% to 40%.
- The group cut its 2026 guidance and reported a net loss of $1.15bn, driven by an $873m Brazil impairment.

Flutter closed its Brazilian operations on 26 September after a provisional ban on online betting and gaming, and lowered its full-year revenue guidance to $17.61bn at the midpoint. It is the first set of results under chief executive Dan Taylor. Flutter has also announced a restructuring of its UK and Ireland business in response to the tax rises, putting about 1,400 jobs at risk.
Jackpots, not bigger welcome offers
Flutter credited growth in players partly to Sky Bet’s Big Drop jackpot promotion. With bonus wagering capped at 10x and duty at 40%, operators are leaning on free-to-enter jackpots, prize drops and loyalty features rather than larger welcome bonuses. Our guides to prize drops, jackpot slots bonuses and loyalty bonuses explain how they work and what they are worth.
Sport and casino are now separate offers
World Cup cross-sell helped Flutter’s casino numbers, but since 19 January 2026 a single promotion cannot mix sport and casino. If you join a bookmaker for its sports offer, any casino bonus must be a separate offer with its own terms; see sports or casino welcome offer and the mixed-product ban.
